The Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government was sworn in by President Droupadi Murmu on 10 June 2024. It was the third consecutive term for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government. President Murmu also swore in a strong 72-member council of ministers, including the Prime Minister. Later, the government announced the portfolios of the Council of Ministers.
The Cabinet is the most important decision-making body of the Union Council of Ministers, To expedite the decision-making process, the Union Cabinet has several cabinet subcommittees. Last Modi government had seven sub-committees. Only the cabinet ministers are the members of the cabinet sub-committee.
The Cabinet Committee on Security is considered to be the most important subcommittee of the cabinet, where important decisions are taken by the government of India. This year, there has been no change in the composition of the Cabinet Committee on Security.
The Prime Minister is the chairman of the Council of Ministers and heads all cabinet or cabinet subcommittee meetings.
