India-Israel Bilateral Investment Agreement Comes into Force.

India and Israel's Bilateral Investment Agreement (BIA) came into force on July 4, 2026. The agreement was originally signed on September 8, 2025, in New Delhi. It took nearly ten months from signing to enforcement. The BIA now creates a legally binding framework governing investments made by Indian investors in Israel and Israeli investors in India.
The agreement covers two broad areas.
The BIA is structured around modern international investment law principles. It balances investor protection with government flexibility; neither country has surrendered its right to make independent policy decisions on investment regulation.

The BIA is expected to increase cross-border investment flows and strengthen the overall economic partnership between the two countries.
