The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) held its 5th Executive Committee Meeting on July 3, 2026, under the chairmanship of Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush. Three landmark initiatives were launched at the meeting, pushing forward the council's agenda on evidence-based Ayurveda research, digital transformation, and scientific writing among young researchers.
The meeting saw the unveiling of three targeted initiatives covering research education, scientific writing, and digital accessibility for Ayurveda scholars and the public.
A research methodology textbook developed under the Ayurved Prabodhini Granthamala series was unveiled at the meeting. Fifty research scientists and faculty members contributed to authoring it. The textbook follows the outcome-based dynamic curriculum prescribed by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) for postgraduate and doctoral AYUSH education. MD, MS, and Ph.D. scholars are the primary audience, and the publication is expected to sharpen research thinking, methodology, and evidence-based competencies across Ayurveda institutions.
The council launched the Expression of Interest for CCRAS PRAYATNA 2026–27, its flagship program built around promoting scientific writing and publication skills among postgraduate and Ph.D. scholars in Ayurveda. The official PRAYATNA poster was also unveiled on the occasion. Structured, institution-based workshops sit at the core of this initiative, aiming to build a stronger research culture and equip young Ayurveda researchers with the communication skills needed to publish and contribute meaningfully to the field.
The third launch was the CCRAS Digital Ecosystem Dashboard — an integrated platform pulling together the council's web-based resources, research outputs, and institutional information in one accessible place. Built to improve transparency and public outreach, the dashboard is now live at dashboard.ccras.org.in.
Kotecha acknowledged several milestones CCRAS has notched recently: 21 NABH and NABL accreditations across its institutes, the Ayush Diksha platform, international collaborative research, and a large-scale anemia study covering adolescent girls nationwide. Director General Prof. Rabinarayan Acharya reaffirmed the council's direction, calling for continued scientific validation and global recognition of Ayurveda research.
The meeting brought together senior officials from across the Ayush ecosystem. Those present included:
