On the 10th day of the 19th Asian Games , Annu Rani and Parul Chaudhary won India's first-ever gold medals in women’s javelin throw and women’s 5000m respectively. India won two gold, two silver and five bronze medals on 3rd October 2023 to take its medal tally to 69.  At the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, India had won its highest ever,70 medals in Asian Games.

India has sent a 655 member strong Indian team to the 19th Asian Games 2023 being held in Hangzhou, China. The 19th edition of the Asian Games officially began on September 23,2023 and will conclude on October 8,2023.

Medal Winners for India on day 10 of the Hangzhou Asian Games 

Gold Medal Winners 

  • Annu Rani threw  62.92m to win the women's javelin throw gold medal. It is her second Asian Games medal.She won  a bronze at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games.
  • Parul Chaudhary won gold in the women's 5000m final. This was the second medal for Parul Chaudhary at the Hangzhou Games . She won silver in the women's 3000m steeplechase race.

Silver Medal Winners 

  • Tejaswin Shankar shattered the national record to win the men’s decathlon silver for his first Asian Games medal.In the decathlon event there are 10 events . It consists of  100 metres, long jump, shot put, high jump and 400 metres, 110 metres hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin and 1500 metres race.
  • Mohammed Afsal won the silver medal in the men’s 800 metre track and field event.

Bronze medal Winners 

  • Boxer Narender Berwal  won the bronze medal despite losing the semi-final bout against  Kazakhstan's Kamshybek Kunkabayev in the men's +92kg event.
  • Vithya Ramraj  won bronze in the  women's 400m hurdles final. The 25-year-old Indian hurdler equalled Indian track and field legend PT Usha's 400m hurdles national record in the heats.
  • Boxer Preeti Pawar won the bronze medal despite losing her semi-final match against the  2018 Asian Games champion Chang Yuan of China in the women's 54kg event.
  •  Arjun Singh and Sunil Singh Salam, finished third in the men's canoe double 1000m final. It is India's second canoe medal in Asian Games history. Johnny Rommel and Siji Kumar Sadanandan won a bronze in the same race at the 1994 Asian Games in Hiroshima.
  • Praveen Chithravel won a bronze medal in the men’s triple jump with a jump of 16.68m at the Asian Games in Hangzhou.

India finished the day 10 with 69 medals- 15 gold,26 silver and 28 bronze medals.
