In the recently held presidential election, 78-year-old incumbent President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria was re-elected with a landslide victory. According to Mohamed Charfi, head of the National Independent Authority for Elections, President Abdelmadjid Tebbounen secured 94.65 per cent of the valid votes.
Presidential elections were held in Algeria on 7 September 2024. Out of the 25 million eligible voters, around 5.6 million voted in the election.
