The Indian women's compound team of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Parneet Kaur and Aditi Gopichand Swami won the gold medal at the World Archery Championships 2023 in Berlin, Germany, on 4 August 2023. It was India’s first-ever gold at the archery world championships in any category.
The Indian women's team defeated the Mexican team of Dafne Quintero, Ana Sofía Hernandez Jeon and Andrea Becerra 235-229 in the final.
Before the start of the Berlin event India had won a total of 11 medals- 9 silver and 2 bronze at the World Archery Championships.
The India compound women’s team won its fourth consecutive medal at the world archery championships . It won the silver medals in 2017 and 2021 and a bronze medal in 2019 . Jyothi Vennam has been a part of all four medal-winning teams.
The 2023 World Archery Championships is being held from 31 July to 6 August 2023 in Berlin, Germany . The event is also a qualification event for the 2024 Summer Olympics to be held in Paris, France.
The World Archery Championships is organised by the World Archery Federation every two years .
