Hockey India announced the sixth Hockey India Awards 2023 on 31 March 2024 at a function in New Delhi. Salima Tete and Hardik Singh were named the women’s and men’s player of the year, respectively. Hockey India started the annual Hockey India Awards in 2014 to honour India’s best hockey players, former players and officials.

Hardik Singh of Punjab, currently the Indian Hockey men’s team vice-captain, was part of the bronze-medal-winning Indian team at the Tokyo Olympics 2023 and the gold-medal-winning 2023 Hangzhou Asian team.
Hardik Singh, winner of the FIH Player of the Year at the Star Awards 2023, was also awarded the Hockey India’s Best Midfielder of the Year award.
Salima Tete of Jharkhand was part of the Indian women’s Hockey team that won the bronze medal at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games. She was also honoured with the Asian Hockey Federation’s Emerging Player of the Year Award in 2023.

Hockey India Major Dhyan Chand Lifetime Achievement Award
Ashok Kumar, the son of Indian Hockey legend Dhyan Chand, was honoured with the Hockey India Lifetime Achievement Award. Ashok Kumar was a member of the Indian Hockey team, which won the bronze medal at the 1972 Munich Olympics. He scored the goal in the final of the 1975 World Cup in Kuala Lumpur, which secured India's gold medal.
The winner got a cash prize of Rs 30 lakhs and a trophy.
Hockey India Baljit Singh Award for Goalkeeper of the Year - PR Sreejesh. He got a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh and a Trophy.
Hockey India Pargat Singh Award for Defender of the Year - Harmanpreet Singh. He got a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh and a Trophy.
Hockey India Ajit Pal Singh Award for Midfielder of the Year - Hardik Singh. He received a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh and a Trophy.
Hockey India Dhanraj Pillay Award for Forward of the Year - Abhishek. He got a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh and a Trophy.
Hockey India Asunta Lakra Award for Upcoming Player of the Year (Women – Under 21) - Deepika Soreng. She got a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh and a Trophy.
Hockey India Jugraj Singh Award for Upcoming Player of the Year (Men – Under 21) - Araijeet Singh Hundal. He got a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh and a Trophy.
Hockey India Balbir Singh Sr. Award for Player of The Year (Women) - Salima Tete. She got a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh and a Trophy.
Hockey India Balbir Singh Sr. Award for Player of The Year (Men) - Hardik Singh. He got a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh and a Trophy.
Other Awards of Hockey India 2023
Hockey India Best Member Unit of the Year Award 2023 - Hockey Haryana. It received Rs 2.5 lakh in prize money and a Trophy.
Hockey India President Award for Umpire/Umpires Manager of the Year 2023 - G Harsha Vardan. He received a cash prize of Rs 2.5 Lakhs and a Trophy.
The Hockey India President Award for Technical Official of the Year 2023 - Sonia Bathla. She received a cash prize of Rs 2.5 Lakhs and a Trophy.
Hockey India President Award for Outstanding Achievement 2023 - SAIL Hockey Academy, Rourkela. It received a prize money of Rs 5 Lakh and a Trophy.
Hockey India Jaman Lal Sharma Award for Invaluable Contribution 2023 - Dr Bibhu Kalyan Nayak, who received a cash prize of Rs 5 Lakh and a trophy.
