DRDO & Indian Army conducted successful trials of indigenous MPATGM

Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Indian Army successfully field tested indigenously developed Man-Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile (MPATGM) weapon system. This has paved the way for its inclusion in the army's arsenal.

The MPATGM weapon system has been designed and developed by the DRDO.

DRDO and Army tested many equipment:

According to DRDO officials, on April 14, 2024, the overall system consists of MPATGM, launcher, target acquisition device and a fire control unit.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh lauds DRDO and the Indian Army for their successful tests of the MPATGM system. It has been described as an important step to achieve self-reliance in advanced technology-based defence system development.

MPATGM tested in Pokhran Field Firing Range:

Defence Ministry: MPATG system tested multiple times in varied flight setups to demonstrate superior technology. The ministry said that the warhead flight test was successfully conducted at the Pokhran Field Firing Range on April 13, 2024. Missile performance and warhead performance were found to be remarkable in this test.

MPATG weapon system capable of operating both day and night:

Substantial number of successful missile firing tests conducted. The first test of the MPATGM Tandem Warhead System has been successfully completed.
The weapon system is capable of day and night operations.
It has been found capable of defeating modern armor protected main battle tanks.
Dual mode functionality is vital to tank warfare. Technology development and successful demonstration completed.
The system is now ready for final user evaluation trials towards induction into the Indian Army.
DRDO Chairman Sameer V. Kamat has congratulated the teams involved in the tests on the successful testing of this MPATG weapon system.
