SSC MTS Selection Process

The selection process for SSC MTS depends on the post. The detailed selection process is given below:

Stage 1: Computer-Based Examination (CBE)

• This paper is mandatory for both MTS and Havaldar posts.
• The exam is conducted in Hindi, English, and 13 other regional languages.
• The CBT is divided into two sessions, Session I and Session II, and candidates must attempt both on the same day.

Stage 2: PET/PST (Physical Test)

• This stage is only for candidates who have applied for the Havaldar post.
• The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) are conducted as per the requirements for Havaldar in CBIC and CBN.

SSC MTS Paper 1 Exam Pattern 

The detailed SSC MTS Exam Pattern has been shared in the official SSC MTS notification. Candidates should carefully review the exam structure and plan their preparation accordingly to the SSC MTS Exam Pattern.

• The Computer-Based Examination (CBE) is divided into two sessions – Session I and Session II.
• Both sessions are compulsory and are conducted on the same day.
• The time limit for each session is 45 minutes. Since this is a computer-based examination, candidates must be aware that Session I will close automatically in 45 minutes, and Session II will begin immediately after it.
• The exam consists of objective-type, multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
• Except for the English Language questions, all other subjects’ questions of Session I and the General Awareness of Session II will be available in English, Hindi, and 13 regional languages (Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu).
• There is no negative marking in Session I.
• In Session II, 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
