At the 10th Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2025 (DPIFF 2025) in Mumbai, the Best Actor and Best Actress awards went to Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon respectively.
- The 10th Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2025 (DPIFF 2025) celebrated the achievements of Indian cinema, television, and online platforms in Mumbai.
- Established in 2012, the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival (DPIFF) is named after a great personality who is considered the father of Indian cinema.
- The award is named after Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, who is called the “Father of Indian Cinema” because he made India’s first feature film, Raja Harishchandra, in 1913.

Aamir Khan to receive the first R.K. Laxman Award in Pune
- Aamir Khan will receive the first R.K. Laxman Award for Excellence in Pune on November 23.
- The R.K. Laxman family has announced the first R.K. Laxman Award for Excellence, and Aamir Khan will receive this historic honor.
- The award ceremony will be held on November 23, 2025, at the MCA Cricket Stadium in Pune. The evening will also feature a live concert by A.R. Rahman, turning it into a grand cultural celebration blending art, music, and storytelling.
- The event will be broadcast live on ManoramaMAX and telecast on Star Plus, allowing audiences across India to witness a tribute to one of the nation’s most beloved creative minds.
- Rasipuram Krishnaswami Laxman (October 24, 1921 – January 26, 2015) was an Indian cartoonist, illustrator, and humorist. He was best known for his creation The Common Man and his daily cartoon strip You Said It, which appeared in The Times of India in 1951.
- His first full-time job was as a political cartoonist for The Free Press Journal in Mumbai. R.K. Laxman was born in 1921 in Mysore into a Tamil Hindu family.
Javed Akhtar to receive an award at the SoA Literature Festival
- Renowned poet, lyricist, and screenwriter Javed Akhtar will be honored with the 2025 SoA Sahitya Samman for his unparalleled contribution to Indian cinema and literature.
- The award will be presented during the inaugural session of the third SoA Literature Festival to be held on November 29 at the campus of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed University, Bhubaneswar.
- Mr. Akhtar, who has received five National Film Awards and 15 Filmfare Awards, has also been honored with several other awards, including the Padma Shri (1999), Padma Bhushan (2007), and Sahitya Akademi Award (2014).
