UP Board Launches QR Answer Sheets for 2027 Exams

Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education has announced a major upgrade to its examination system for 2027. The Board will introduce a new answer sheet format for Class 10 (High School) and Class 12 (Intermediate) board exams. This initiative aims to eliminate cheating, prevent copy swapping, and ensure total transparency across all examination centers.

The reform introduces QR-coded main cover pages and class-specific color coding for both primary (A) and supplementary (B) answer copies. Additionally, the Board has planned strict 24/7 surveillance protocols to monitor the storage, movement, and distribution of all answer booklets. The 2027 board examinations are scheduled to run from February 5 to February 24, 2027.

QR-Coded Main Covers for Instant Verification

Under the updated framework, every official answer booklet will feature a single, unified main cover sheet equipped with a high-security QR code. Scanning the embedded QR code instantly displays the official logo of the Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education.

This digital authentication feature allows flying squads and invigilators to verify genuine answer sheets on the spot. It prevents unauthorized external booklets from entering examination halls and adds a vital layer of security to the evaluation process.

Class-Wise Color Coding for A and B Copies

To help invigilators distinguish examination levels at a glance, the Board has assigned distinct color codes to Class 10 and Class 12 answer sheets. While the front cover layout and QR code remain identical, the distinct paper colorways make identification foolproof.

The UP Board has established strict physical security guidelines to protect answer sheet bundles prior to and during the examination period:

• CCTV Storage: Examination centers will store all answer sheet bundles in secure, locked strongrooms equipped with 24/7 active CCTV camera coverage.
• Bundle Tracking Registers: Center heads will log the exact serial numbers of all incoming and outgoing answer sheet bundles in official tracking registers.
• Audit Trails: Serial number tracking creates a clear audit trail that helps authorities detect missing or tampered answer sheets immediately.
