Under the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Rules, 1996 and the Rajasthan Scheduled Area Subordinate Ministerial and Class IV Services (Recruitment and Other Conditions of Service) Rules 2014, the Rajasthan Subordinate and Ministerial Services Selection Board (RSMSSB) conducts recruitment to the posts of Village Development Officer (VDO).

 

The village development officer is a highly reputed post in rural areas. The work of the Village development officer is to make the facilities of education, health, agriculture etc., accessible to the people in the village. 

 

Along with this, the village development officer also performs important tasks such as providing facilities to the people living in the village, giving information about the schemes issued in the interest of the village to the villagers, allotting or manure storage and preparing the annual budget of the Panchayat Samiti and presenting the consolidated plan to the Zilla Parishad.

RSMSSB VDO Eligibility Criteria 2023

To be eligible for RSMSSB VDO recruitment candidates must fulfil certain eligibility criteria set by the board. The eligibility criteria generally include age limit and educational qualification standard. Candidates must review the official notification carefully.
