The majority mark is 202 of 403 seats. The NDA holds 294 seats (BJP 257), and the SP and its allies hold 102. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s BJP faces anti-incumbency, while the SP hopes for a comeback.
The majority mark is 59 of 117 seats. The AAP holds 94 seats and the Congress 16. The BJP plans to contest all seats alone, so the fight is multi-cornered.
The majority mark is 36 of 70 seats. The BJP holds 47 and the Congress 20. A win for Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami would break the state’s habit of changing governments.
The majority mark is 21 of 40 seats. The BJP holds 28 after eight Congress MLAs joined it, and it targets 30. AAP and the Goa Forward Party have formed the “Goa First” alliance.
The majority mark is 31 of 60 seats. A BJP government returned in February 2026 after about a year of President’s Rule. Peace, ethnic harmony and rehabilitation are the key issues.
The majority mark is 92 of 182 seats. The BJP holds 162, the Congress 12 and the AAP 4. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s party aims to extend its long rule.
The majority mark is 35 of 68 seats. The Congress holds 40 and the BJP 28. The state has voted out its government at every election, so this is a hard test for Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
The President’s Droupadi Murmu term runs from 25 July 2022 to 24 July 2027, so a new President must be chosen before it ends. The Vice-President’s term runs from 11 August 2022 to 10 August 2027.
Rajya Sabha is a permanent House with 233 elected and 12 nominated members, 245 in all. Members serve six-year terms, and about one-third retire every two years. That is why elections are held in rounds, and they are separate from Assembly polls.
After 2027, nine states vote in 2028, the Lok Sabha and several states in 2029, Delhi and Bihar in 2030, and Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Puducherry in 2031.
