RPSC RAS Eligibility Criteria 2023 

The RPSC RAS Eligibility Criteria are outlined in this post are determined by factors such as the candidate's age, qualifications, nationality, and other relevant requirements. Candidates not meeting these required criteria would not be eligible to participate in further stages of the recruitment process. The eligibility criteria include the following conditions:

(a) Nationality

To apply for the RPSC RAS Recruitment 2023, the candidate must be a citizen of India or a domicile of Rajasthan.

(b) Age Limit 

To be eligible to apply for this post, a candidate must be between 21 and 40 years of age as on 1 January 2024. 

Relaxation Age: Relaxation in age is permitted to some candidates in the reserved categories. 

Candidates interested in applying for the RPSC RAS Recruitment 2023 must be aware of the fact that the relaxation in the upper age limit applicable to candidates belonging to the following categories:

(c) Educational Qualification:

The candidate must have a graduate degree (any stream) from:

  • A university that has been established by an Act of the Central Legislature. These are universities that have been created and recognised by the central government of the country. Or 
  • Candidates are also eligible if they have a degree from an educational institution that has been established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be one under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.  Or
  • In some cases, candidates with qualifications from institutions that may not fall under the first two categories can still be considered if their qualifications are deemed equivalent and have been approved by the government in consultation with the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC).

Note: Candidates in the final year of their degree programmes are also eligible to apply for the RPSC RAS Prelims Exam 2023, but they must submit proof of graduation before proceeding to the Mains stage.

RPSC RAS 2023 Application Process

RPSC RAS application form was available online on its SSO portal from 1 July to 31 July 2023. Here, we are providing step-by-step instructions to apply for the RPSC RAS Examination:

  1. Visit the official RPSC Online Application Portal, known as the SSO Rajasthan Portal.
  2. Register using your Jan Aadhaar or Mail ID to obtain your unique SSO ID number. If you already have an SSO ID, you can skip this step and log in using your existing credentials.
  3. Locate and click on the Application Link for the RPSC RAS Recruitment Exam.
  4. Provide your email address, full name, age, date of birth, and other necessary personal details.
  5. Enter all your educational qualifications and relevant professional information.
  6. Upload all the required scanned documents in the specific format specified by the commission.
  7. To complete the registration process, make the necessary payment of the RPSC RAS application fee based on your category.
  8. After filling out the application form and making the payment, submit the RAS Application Form and ensure to keep a copy of it for future reference.

Application Fee 

Application forms for the RPSC RAS Recruitment 2023 will not be accepted without submitting the application fee. The Application Fee can be paid with a Visa/Master/Rupay Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment or through any bank's Internet banking service. The category-wise application fee is tabulated below:-

RPSC RAS 2023 Selection Process

The RPSC RAS Selection process comprises two main phases: the Combined Competitive Examination and the Personality and Viva-Voce Examination. The Combined Competitive Examination, in turn, consists of the following stages:

(A) Combined Competitive Examination:

The Combined Competitive Examination includes two stages known as prelims and mains. 

Stage I - Preliminary Examination (Prelims)

The preliminary exam consists of one objective-type paper. This paper can be conducted either in offline or online mode.

Stage II - Mains Examination (Mains)

The main examination involves answering descriptive questions. Candidates, in a number equal to 15 times the total vacancies available, will be selected to appear in the main examination.

(B) Personality Test & Viva-Voce

Candidates who meet the prescribed minimum qualifying marks in the written Main Examination will be invited for a personality and viva voce examination, which carries a weightage of 100 marks.

RPSC RAS Exam Pattern

This section provides a comprehensive overview of the RPSC RAS Exam pattern for both the preliminary and main exams. Stage I: Prelim Exam Pattern

  • Prelims exam will be of qualifying nature and consist of 1 paper only.
  • Paper will be of Objective Type and carry 200 marks
  • The standard questions of this paper will be that of bachelor's degree.
  • Qualified candidates will be called for the mains.
  • For each wrong answer, a penalty of 1/3 (one-third) of a mark will be deducted.

The RPSC will release the RAS Admit Card 2023 one or two weeks before the scheduled examination date. The candidates can obtain their Admit Card from the official website only.
