Kami Rita of Nepal has broken his own world record by climbing Mount Everest 29 times. This is the 29th time in the last 30 years that he has climbed the world's highest mountain.
According to the Mingma Sherpa of the Seven Summits Treks, Kami Rita reached the peak on 12 May 2004.
Mount Everest is the world’s highest peak, with a height of 8,848.86 metres or 29,031.69 feet.
Kami Rita is a citizen of Nepal and was born in1970. He is currently a senior mountain sherpa (guide) with Seven Summit Treks.
Kami Rita started his mountaineering career in 1992 as a supporting crew member.
Kami Rita first conquered the Everest peak in 1994 and has been climbing the mountain peak almost every year. In 2023, he climbed the mountain peak twice.
He is popularly known as the Everest Man.
Another Nepalese Mountaineer, Pasang Dawa, is Kami Rita's closest competitor, who has climbed Mount Everest 27 times.

In Tibet, Mount Everest is known as Chomolungma which means“Goddess Mother of the World” or “Goddess of the Valley". It is known as Sagarmatha in Nepal.
In 1852, the Surveyor of India, under the leadership of Sir George Everest, accurately measured the height of the peak. The mountain peak was named as Peak XV and it was renamed Mount Everest in 1865 in honour of Sir George Everest.
Mount Everest was formed after the collision of the Indian and Eurasian plates 40 to 50 million years ago. Due to the continuing tectonic movement of the plates, the Himalayan mountain moves a few inches to the northeast and rises a fraction of an inch each year. Thus, the height of Everest is increasing.
