Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty Win China Masters Title 2026

Indian badminton pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty won the China Masters 2026 men's doubles title in Shenzhen on Sunday, September 6, 2026, staging a strong comeback in the final to clinch the crown.

Satwik and Chirag First Indians to Win China Masters Crown Since 2005

Satwik and Chirag, ranked fifth in the world, defeated China's He Jiting and Ren Xiangyu 11-21, 21-13, 21-17 in a match lasting an hour and ten minutes, to lift the BWF Super 750 title. This win made them the first Indian pair to win the China Masters since the tournament began in 2005, a huge milestone in Indian badminton history.

The Indian duo, who are the reigning Asian Games men's doubles champions, had previously finished runners-up in Shenzhen in both 2023 and 2025, and reached the semi-finals in 2024, making this year's title especially significant. The win also extended their head-to-head record against the Chinese pair to a perfect 3-0, having beaten them earlier at the China Masters 2023 and the Malaysia Open 2024. 

This was Satwik-Chirag's 10th career title on the BWF World Tour, their second title of the 2026 season, and their fourth BWF Super 750 crown, following earlier triumphs at the French Open (2022, 2024) and the Singapore Open earlier this year.

1. The China Masters 2026 was held in Shenzhen and formed part of the BWF Super 750 category on the World Tour calendar.
2. In the final, He Jiting and Ren Xiangyu, who had won bronze at the Badminton Asia Championships earlier this year, took an early lead but could not hold on as Satwik-Chirag fought back from behind in both the second and deciding games to seal the title.
3.  Following this win, the Indian pair will next compete at the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, where the badminton competition runs from September 20 to 29, with the duo defending their title as reigning champions.
