ECL Launches Special Campaign 6.0 to Drive Cleanliness and Sustainability
Updated: 05 Sep 2026
3 Min Read

Eastern Coalfields Limited has rolled out Special Campaign 6.0, a fresh push to make its workplaces cleaner, more efficient, and more sustainable. The campaign ties together two national priorities the "Waste to Wealth" theme set by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, and the "eWaste Management" theme laid out by the Ministry of Coal. Together, these themes shape a coordinated effort across ECL to clear clutter, cut down pending work, and modernise how the organisation operates day to day.
The campaign is built around two connected ideas working side by side. "Waste to Wealth" pushes ECL to look at scrap and unused resources not as dead weight but as something that can be recovered, reused, or responsibly disposed of to create value. Running alongside it, "eWaste Management" zeroes in specifically on electronic waste old computers, obsolete devices, and other e-items that tend to pile up in large organisations if left unaddressed. Put together, these themes give the campaign both a broad sustainability goal and a sharply defined operational target.
The launch event brought together ECL's senior leadership. Chairman-cum-Managing Director Satish Jha gave the formal go-ahead for the campaign and stressed that collective employee participation would be key to its success. He was joined by Director (Finance) Md. Anzar Alam, Director (HR) Gunjan Kumar Sinha, Director (Technical/P&P) Girish Gopinathan Nair, and Director (Technical/Operations) Chitranjan Kumar. Also present were Nodal Officer for Special Campaign 6.0, Nazrul Islam, the General Manager (HR), and various Heads of Departments from headquarters along with General Managers representing ECL's different operational areas. Their presence at the launch reflects the organisation-wide nature of the initiative, spanning finance, HR, technical operations, and administrative functions alike, all working toward the shared goal of a cleaner, leaner, and more digitally efficient ECL.
