On paper, it's a mismatch, but the real value here lies in visibility rather than competitiveness.

This match also serves a practical purpose. It gives India's squad a chance to adjust to local conditions ahead of the Asian Games 2026, where both India and Japan will compete in the men's cricket event scheduled from September 24 to October 3.
