RRB Technician 2024 Vacancies Increased: Check Exam Date

RRB Technician Vacancy 2024 has been increased by the Railway Recruitment Board. RRB issued the RRB Technician Notice 2024 on 22 August 2024 to increase the number of vacancies for the Technician positions under the Railway. Initially, there were 9,144 RRB Technician Vacancies across 18 categories. However, due to increased demand from Workshops and Production Units, the number of vacancies has now risen to 14,298 across 40 categories.

For the new categories added (19 to 40), details on qualifications, medical standards, and suitability for persons with disabilities (PwBD) are provided in the RRB Technician Vacancy Notice 2024. Those who are newly eligible can apply online for RRB Technician Recruitment 2024. The RRB Technician Application Link will be available soon and will be open for 15 days on all RRBs' official websites.

Current applicants will have the chance to update their RRB choice, preference for Zonal Railways/Workshops/PUs within their chosen RRB, and preferences for various post categories. RRB Technician Admit Cards are usually available about four to five days before each stage of the exam, so check the official website regularly as your exam date approaches. To obtain your RRB Technician Admit Card 2024, follow these steps on your regional RRB’s official website:

1. Go to the website of the regional RRB where you applied.
2. Navigate to the section for RRB Technician Admit Cards 2024. 
3. Input your application ID or username and password to access your RRB Admit Card.
4. After entering your credentials, you can download your admit card.
5. Save the admit card to your device and print it out.It’s advisable to keep several copies for future use.

Railway Technician Exam Pattern 2024

Before you take the RRB Technician 2024 exam, it’s crucial to understand the exam pattern and prepare accordingly. The pattern differs slightly based on the Technician positions. Here’s a summary of what you need to know about RRB Technician Exam Pattern:

• The Technician Exam will consist of 100 questions, each carrying 1 mark, totaling 100 marks.
• There is a penalty for incorrect answers, with a deduction of 1/3rd of the marks assigned to each question.
• For Computer Based Tests conducted in multiple shifts, marks normalization will be applied to ensure fairness.
• To qualify, you need to score at least:
  • UR & EWS (General): 40%
  • OBC (NCL): 30%
  • SC: 30%
  • ST: 25%
• PwBD candidates are eligible for a relaxation of 2% in the minimum passing marks if needed.
• The scores you achieve in the Computer Based Test (CBT) will be used to determine which candidates advance to the next stages of the recruitment process.
