On 10 April 2026, the Staff Selection Commission have issued a notice regarding new guidelines on 10 April 2026 for the Challenge / Objection Management System of SSC Computer-Based Exam Answer Keys. Candidates who want to appear in the upcoming SSC Examinations should check these new guidelines of SSC. These guidelines will apply to all objective-type multiple-choice examinations conducted by the Commission from the 2026 exam cycle onwards, including all upcoming departmental exams.
SSC invites objections for SSC CBT Exams, and the SMEs evaluate the objections to make a final answer key. Taking into account the feedback received from candidates and the observations made by various courts, the Commission has conducted a thorough review of its entire objection and challenge management process. Scroll down this page to get updates on the SSC CBT Answer Key Challenge Guidelines 2026.
SSC Exam Guidelines Notice 2026 Regarding Objections
After the objections raised by candidates are examined by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), different situations may arise. To address these effectively, the Staff Selection Commission has introduced updated changes to the Challenge/Objection Management System for finalizing answer keys in computer-based objective-type examinations.
Check the changes made by the Commission:-
If a question in the exam is found to be unclear, incorrect, or has no correct answer, it will be removed (discarded) by the Commission. In such cases:-
Note:- No matter whether you have attempted the question or not. Even if you skipped or got that question wrong, you won’t be at any disadvantage.
If a question has more than one correct option, SSC follows a fair evaluation method:-
Note:- Experts (SMEs) decide answers based on the most accurate and logical option, not complicated or forced reasoning. Usually, the correct answer is the most straightforward one. Claims like “multiple correct answers” or “no correct answer” will be rejected if a clear best answer exists.
SSC exams are designed based on a broad syllabus, so questions are usually within scope. However, in rare cases, if a question is found to be completely out of the syllabus:-
Note:- If a question is truly out of the syllabus, everyone gets equal benefit. You won’t lose marks even if you didn’t attempt that question.
When filling out the application form, you must choose the language (medium) in which you want to take the exam.
SSC releases the Answer Keys after conducting the SSC Recruitment Exams, and candidates are allowed to raise objections within the specified time by submitting the valid proof and objection fee. The objections submitted by the candidates are reviewed by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and based on their recommendations, the final answer key is prepared and later published on the Commission’s website.
To raise objections against the SSC Computer-based Examinations Answer Keys, candidates are required to follow these steps:-
Step 1: Visit the official website of the Staff Selection Commission.
Step 2: Sign in to the candidate portal and open the “My Applications” section. Select the option “Challenge Question” for the question you wish to object to.
Step 3: You will be taken to the objection submission page, where the selected question, along with its answer choices, will be displayed.
Step 4: Pick the appropriate complaint category from the dropdown list.
Step 5: Provide a clear and valid justification for your objection in the given text box.
Step 6: Upload relevant supporting proof (document or image) to strengthen your claim.
Step 7: Once all details are filled in, click on “Proceed to Pay” and complete the payment to submit your objection.
Note:- Candidates need to pay a fee of ₹50 per question/answer challenged. After reviewing all objections within the stipulated time, SSC will release the final answer key on its official website.
