The following table provides important details about the SSC CGL Tier 1 Result 2026.

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Analysis & Good Attempts 2026

Based on candidate feedback and expert analysis, the overall difficulty level of the SSC CGL Tier 1 2026 exam ranged from easy to moderate. However, the Staff Selection Commission introduced a strict 15-minute sectional time limit this year, making time management the biggest hurdle for aspirants.

While the General Intelligence and English sections featured familiar previous year question patterns, the Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness sections were slightly more demanding and calculation-heavy. To help you gauge your performance before the result drops, here is the section-wise breakdown of safe attempts:

Note: A raw score targeting 80 or more accurate attempts puts candidates in a strong position for Tier 2 shortlisting.

SSC CGL Normalization Process & Raw Score Calculation

Since the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam took place across dozens of shifts from 30 September to 28 October 2026, the paper's difficulty naturally fluctuated. To maintain absolute fairness, the Commission uses a standard normalization formula. Your final SSC CGL Tier 1 Result 2026 will reflect these normalized marks, which decide your merit status.

Until the official scorecard is released, you can calculate your exact raw score using the provisional answer key and the standard marking scheme:

• Add 2 marks for every correct answer.
• Deduct 0.50 marks for every incorrect answer.

Formula:

Raw Score = (Number of Correct Attempts × 2) - (Number of Incorrect Attempts × 0.50)

SSC CGL Tier 1 Cut-off Marks 2026

Along with the result, SSC will publish the category-wise cut-off marks for the Tier 1 examination. The cut-off represents the minimum marks required to qualify for the next stage of the recruitment process.

The cut-off marks may differ according to the candidate's category and the applicable post criteria. Based on the previous year's normalization trends and paper difficulty, here are the expected cut-off ranges for this year:

Note: The official cut-off will be updated in the table above once SSC releases the results.

What Happens After SSC CGL Tier 1 Result 2026?

Candidates who qualify in the Tier 1 examination will be shortlisted for the SSC CGL Tier 2 examination. Tier 2 is the next stage of the selection process and is tentatively scheduled for December 2026, as per the examination notification.

After the Tier 1 result, shortlisted candidates should follow the official website for the Tier 2 schedule, examination instructions, and admit card updates. The subsequent selection stages will involve the applicable document verification and other post-specific requirements.
