President Droupadi Murmu conferred the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2024 to 19 exceptional children in New Delhi.
Highlights of Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, 2024
The Rashtriya Bal Puraskar was given to the 19 children selected from all regions of the country for their exceptional achievements in the fields of Art and Culture, Bravery, Innovation, Social Service, and Sports.
- Nine boys and ten girls are selected from 18 States and Union Territories including two Aspirational Districts.
- The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, 2024 conferred upon 19 children selected from all regions of the country for their exceptional achievements in the field of Art and Culture (7), Bravery (1), Science & Technology (1), Innovation (1), Social Service (4), and Sports (5).
- The occasion was presided over by Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani and Minister of State for Women and Child Development Munjpara Mahendrabhai.
- The awards are given to children in the age group of 5 to 18 years.
- On 23rd January Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also interact with Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar awardees. The children will also take part in the Republic Day parade on January 26th, 2024.

Eligibility Criteria:
A resident of India and Indian citizen who is between the ages 5 to 18 years (as on 31st August of respective year).
Selection:
A National Selection Committee under the Chairpersonship of the Women and Child Development Ministry (WCD) finalizes the names of the awardees for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar
