On 4 October 2026, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan laid the foundation stone of India's first pilot housing project using 3D concrete printing (3DCP) at Burripalem village, Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh. The project will build 177 houses at a cost of ₹14 crore. The Centre also handed over the first installment of 3 lakh houses worth ₹3,600 crore under PMAY-G 2.0.
The pilot project covers Burripalem and Obulnayudupalem villages. Advanced machines will print the houses layer by layer, and construction is expected to finish within six months. Compared with conventional building, this method is expected to save time, cost and labour, and the houses are designed to last longer. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was present at the event.
Officials had first proposed only 76,000 houses for Andhra Pradesh. After the Chief Minister asked that every poor family get a permanent home, the Centre sanctioned 3 lakh houses. Chouhan said further sanctions would follow once these are completed.
Farmers receive ₹6,000 a year under PM-KISAN and ₹14,000 under the state's 'Annadata Sukhibhava' scheme, a total of ₹20,000 annually. So far, 23 lakh women in the state have become Lakhpati Didis through self-help groups, and the target is 60 lakh. The national Saras Mela will be held in Andhra Pradesh on 15 October, the first time outside Delhi, and President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate it.
