Prime Minister Modi was attending the G7 summit meeting outreach session for the record sixth time, having attended in 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.
India is not a member of the G7, but as an important emerging economic power and the world’s fourth-largest economy, it has been regularly invited to the G7's outreach session since 2019.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the Outreach session on “ Energy Security”.
The G7 is a group of seven industrialised democratic countries, including Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Meeting With Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney
- Mark Carney was the host of the 51st G7 summit meeting.
- This was the first meeting between the two leaders since Prime Minister Carney assumed office after winning the Canadian general election.
- Both sides agreed to the early return of High Commissioners to each other’s capitals.

France to host 52nd G7 Summit Meeting in 2026
- France will host the 52nd G7 summit meeting from 14 to 16 June 2026 in the resort town of Evian-les-Bains.
- Evian-les-Bains previously hosted the G7 summit meeting in 2003.
- First summit meeting - France in 1975.
