The 24 member Indian contingent finished the 7th edition of the Commonwealth Youth Games at the 12th place with two medals. Shoan Ganguly won silver medal in Men's 400m individual medley swimming event. Anupriya Valliyot Sasi won a bronze medal in shot put.
The 7th Commonwealth youth games was held at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago from 5-11 August 2023.
Over 1,000 athletes from 71 Commonwealth nations and territories participated in the 7th Commonwealth youth games. Athletes under 18 years of age participate in the games.
The first Commonwealth youth games was held in 2000 in Edinburgh,Scotland .
Pune, Maharashtra hosted the third edition of the Commonwealth youth games in 2008.
The 6th Commonwealth youth games was held in Nassau, Bahamas in 2017.
India’s performance at the Commonwealth Youth Games
India has won a total of 127 medals- 51 gold, 38 silver and 36 bronze in the Commonwealth Youth games . India are the fourth most successful team in the Commonwealth Youth games after Australia, England and South Africa.

Commonwealth
It is a voluntary association of 56 Independent countries that were once ruled by Britain. However it also includes countries like Rwanda, Mozambique, Gabon and Togo who were never ruled by Britain.
