On 15 November 2023, the Indo-Australian men's doubles pair of Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden got their ATP Finals 2023 campaign back on track with a win over Rinke Hijikata-Jason Kubler in their second red group match in Turin, Italy.
- Competing on the hard courts of Pala Alpitour, the third seeded pair of Bopanna and Edben defeated the reigning Australian Open champions 6-4, 6-4.
- The result made 43-year-old Rohan Bopanna the oldest player in ATP Finals history to have a win in his name.
Rohan Bopanna becomes the oldest tennis player:
- Earlier this year, Bopanna became the oldest tennis player in history to win an ATP Masters 1000 title after winning the Indian Wells doubles event with Matthew Ebden.
- Before him, the oldest player to win an ATP Finals match was Daniel Nestor of Canada. When Nestor made this record in 2014, he was 42 years old.
- Bopanna also became the oldest man to reach a Grand Slam final after Indians Rohan Bopanna and Ebden reached the final of the US Open 2023 men's doubles event.
- Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Edben will take on Wesley Koolhof-Neil Skupski in their final group match on 17th November 2023. The winner of that match will finish in the top two of the Red Group and qualify for the semi-finals of the Men's Tennis Championships.
- Bopanna and Ebden lost to defending champions Rajiv Ram and Joe Salisbury 6–3, 6–4 on 13 November 2023.
- This is Bopanna's fourth appearance in the ATP Finals after 2011, 2012 and 2015. The Indian tennis player reached the finals in 2012 and 2015, partnering with Mahesh Bhupathi and later with Romania's Florin Mergea, experiencing defeats on both occasions.
- It is noteworthy that till date no Indian has won the ATP Finals title.
