Rajasthan has launched Industrial Park Promotion Policy-2026 to promote investment, employment and infrastructure.
The policy focuses on PPP model, green incentives and 'Ease of Doing Business' to position the state as a future-ready industrial hub.
It will be led by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and the objective of this policy is to develop world-class industrial parks.
Through this, the state will be established as a future ready industrial destination. Also, this initiative is in line with the national goals like 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'.
To attract investors, the government has introduced several incentives. These include exemption in electricity duty on use of renewable energy, concessions in stamp duty and land conversion charges, and a streamlined single-window clearance system through the ‘Raj Nivesh Portal’.
Additionally, the state government will ensure critical infrastructure such as water supply, electricity and road connectivity, with the cost being shared between the developer and the government.
The policy has presented a streamlined and flexible approach to industrial development, ensuring participation of both public and private sectors.
The policy proposes development of industrial parks through four different models. This includes models such as fully private ownership, hybrid land-sharing systems and public-private partnerships (PPP).
To ensure scale and efficiency, the government has mandated a minimum area of 50 acres for private industrial parks and at least 10 industrial units within each park. One of the main objectives of this policy is to generate employment opportunities on a large scale along with promoting industrial investment in Rajasthan.
The government has introduced provisions such as: 50% reimbursement (subject to a limit) of expenditure incurred on Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETP), incentives for industries adopting clean and renewable energy.
Promotion of eco-friendly infrastructure within industrial parks and ease of doing business: incentives and reforms. The policy includes several reforms related to ease of doing business to make Rajasthan more attractive for investors and businessmen.
The 'Make in India' initiative, launched on September 25, 2014, has completed a decade to make India a global manufacturing hub.
The campaign was launched to facilitate investment, promote innovation and skill development, protect intellectual property and create best-in-class manufacturing infrastructure.
'Make in India' initiative aims to increase the growth rate of manufacturing sector to 12-14% per annum. To increase the contribution of manufacturing sector to GDP to 25% by 2025 along with creating 100 million additional manufacturing jobs by 2022 (revised date 2025).
There is a comprehensive Rs 20 lakh crore economic package (10% of GDP), launched in May, 2020, which aims to make the country self-reliant.
Its 05 main pillars are economy, infrastructure, technology-based systems, vibrant demography and demand, which promote self-reliance and swadeshi. This campaign encourages indigenous production in sectors like MSME, agriculture, defence, health and technology.
It is based on the spirit of "Vocal for Local", which means promoting local products and taking them global (Local to Global). Self-reliance is not self-centeredness, rather it is for global welfare under "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam".
