The 9th edition of the Women’s Cricket Asia Cup will start on 19 July 2024 at Dambulla, Sri Lanka, with Nepal taking on the United Arab Emirates team.
The 9th Women's Asia Cup will be held in the T-20 format. All the matches, including the final, will be played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla from July 19 to 28, 2024.
The Women's Asia Cup is organised by the Asian Cricket Council, the governing body of cricket in Asia. The Asian Cricket Council is affiliated with the global cricket governing body the International Cricket Council. BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) General Secretary Jay Shah is the President of the Asian Cricket Council.
India is the defending champion, winning the 2022 edition by beating Sri Lanka in the final at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet, Bangladesh.
Eight teams -India, Nepal, UAE, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Thailand—are participating in this edition.
Seven teams participated in the last 2022 edition, and Nepal has been added as the eighth team to the 2024 edition.
The eight teams have been grouped into groups A and B.
Group A - UAE, India, Nepal and Pakistan,
Group B- Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bangladesh and Malaysia.
Two teams from each group will progress to the semi-final stage, and the winners will play in the final on 28 July.
India has won the Women’s Cricket Asia Cup for a record 7 times, and Bangladesh has won it once. Following is the list of the venue, winner and runners-up.
