• The preliminary examination comprises two papers, both conducted in a bilingual mode (Hindi and English). Both papers consist of objective-type questions presented in a multiple-choice format.

• Paper II is the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT), also valued at 100 marks, with a 2-hour time limit.
