Their participation in all stages of the examination will be considered provisional until they fulfil the specified eligibility conditions. These criteria generally encompass the candidate's nationality, age limits and educational qualifications. Here, we outline the HPSC HCS 2024 Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for HPSC HCS Civil Judge Examination, a candidate must fall into one of the following categories:
(a) A citizen of India
(b) A subject of Nepal
(c) A subject of Bhutan
(d) A Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before 1 January 1962, intending to settle permanently
(e) A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia), or Vietnam with the intention of permanent settlement in India.
Candidates must be at least 21 years and a maximum of 42 years old on or before January 31, 2024. Certain special categories are eligible for relaxation in the upper age limit. The selection process for HCS (Judicial Branch) involves a three-stage examination:
(A) Preliminary Examination - A screening test with objective-type multiple-choice questions, distinct from the Main Written Examination which is subjective/narrative. OMR Sheets (Answer Sheets) will be computer-scanned.
(B) Main Written Examination - The Main Written Exam will comprise five written papers.
(C) Viva-voce - Aimed at assessing candidates' personal qualities. This session addresses matters of general interest and evaluates candidates' alertness, intelligence and overall perspective. The viva voce is conducted in English.
