UPPSC PCS Notification 2025 Out: Check Exam Details & Apply Now

UPPSC PCS Notification 2025 was issued by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) on 20 February 2025. Uttar Pradesh Combined State/ Upper Subordinate Service (PCS) Examination 2025 is scheduled to take place on 12 October 2025. UPPSC PCS Online Application Window 2025 is open for those who want to apply for the UP PCS Examination 2025. Eligible candidates must complete and submit their application forms between 20 February and 4 April 2025.

UPPSC PCS Notification 2025 must be checked by the candidates. A total of 200 vacancies are announced by the UPPSC for the Combined State /Upper Subordinate Services (PCS) Examination 2025. Candidates will be shortlisted for various administrative positions through the Preliminary Exam, Main Exam and Viva-Voce (Personality Test). Before applying online, candidates must complete the One Time Registration (O.T.R.) process and obtain a unique O.T.R. Number. Those who have not yet secured an O.T.R. Number should generate it from the commission’s website, at least 72 hours before submitting their online application.

UPPSC PCS 2025 Vacancy

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has announced the UPPSC PCS 2025 vacancies through the UP PCS Notification 2025. There are around 200 vacancies for the UPPSC Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services (PCS) Examination 2025. Additionally, 10 vacancies have been released for the post of Assistant Conservator of Forest (A.C.F.). Vacancies for the Range Forest Officer (R.F.O.) will be included upon receipt of the requisition. The number of vacancies is subject to change based on requirements and circumstances.

Nationality

All Indian Citizens are eligible to apply for this recruitment process.

Age Limit  

Candidates must be at least 21 years old and not exceed 40 years of age as of July 1, 2025. This means they should have been born between July 2, 1985, and July 1, 2004.

Relaxation Age

Important Condition:
Candidates with any financial interest in the manufacture, import, or sale of food articles are ineligible for appointment as a Food Safety Officer under these rules.

Preferential Qualification:

Candidates who meet any of the following criteria will be given preference in direct recruitment:

  • Have served for a minimum of two years in the Territorial Army.
  • Have obtained a “B” Certificate in the National Cadet Corps (NCC).
  • Have completed a Ph.D. in Forensic Science in the relevant field.
  • Have three years of practical experience in building construction materials analysis in a government or recognized private institution.

Assistant Prosecution Officer (Transport)

  1. A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Governor.
  2. Thorough knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari Script is required.

Equivalent Qualifications (As per Uttar Pradesh Government, Transport Department Notification No. 124/2024/3052/Three-3-2024, dated 22-11-2024):

The following integrated law degrees are considered equivalent to a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) for the position of Assistant Project Officer (Transport):

Technical Assistant (Chemistry)

A Postgraduate Degree in Chemistry with a minimum of 50% marks from a university established by law in India.

Assistant Conservator of Forest

A Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the following subjects: Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Geology, Forestry, or Statistics, OR a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Engineering from a university established by law in India or a foreign university approved by the Central Government, OR a qualification recognized as equivalent by the Government.

Range Forest Officer

A Bachelor’s Degree with at least two or more of the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Forestry, Geology, Agriculture, Statistics, Horticulture, and Environment, OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Engineering, or Veterinary Science from a university established by law in India, OR a qualification recognized as equivalent by the Government.

Note:- Preferential Qualification for the above-mentioned positions except Assistant Research Officer are as follows: 

(1) served in the Territorial Army for at least two years or 

(2) obtained a “B” certificate in N.C.C. will be given preference in direct recruitment, provided other conditions remain the same.

Physical Measurement

Physical measurements will be applicable based on Service Rules or specific requisitions for positions such as Deputy Superintendent of Police, Superintendent of Jail, District Commandant Home Guards, Excise Inspector, and Deputy Jailor, subject to post availability. Aspirants must submit their UPPSC Application Form 2025 carefully to be eligible for the UPPCS 2025 Exam. Fill out your application form by following the steps outlined below.

UPPSC PCS Selection Process 2025

The selection process of the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Service examination consists of the following three stages:

  • Preliminary Examination

The preliminary exam will be objective in nature, including multiple-choice questions. There will be two papers worth 200 marks each.

  • Mains Examination

Only such candidates will be eligible for the Main (written) examination who are declared successful in the Preliminary Examination. The nature of the main exam will be descriptive. In this phase, the candidates have to write answers/responses in answer sheets provided to them (pen and paper based exam).

Successful candidates must fill out another application form for the Main Examination, following the Commission's instructions.

  • Personality Test:

The Personality Test (Personality Test) will be the final round of the selection process. The candidates who clear the final phase of the examination will be appointed to the positions after all their documents have been verified. Following the conclusion of the Selection Process, the final merit list will be released.

UPPSC PCS 2025 Exam Pattern

The UPPSC Exam Pattern has changed since the UPPCS Prelims in 2018. The new UPPSC Exam Pattern, the optional paper has been revamped and two papers (paper 5 and paper 6) based on Uttar Pradesh Special Knowledge have been introduced.

Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Examination, i.e. the first stage of the UPPSC exam, consists of two papers: Paper I (General Studies-I) and Paper II (General Studies-II or CSAT).

  • The UPPSC PCS preliminary examination is conducted in offline mode, where candidates are required to fill the OMR sheets to answer any question. 
  • The exam will be of 400 marks and each paper carries a maximum of 200 marks.
  • The duration of the examination is 120 minutes (2 hours).
  • Both papers consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions.

For each incorrect answer given by the candidate, one-third (0.33) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty.

Note:

  • No candidate shall be admitted to the examination unless he or she possesses the admit card issued by the Commission.
  • If a candidate's handwriting is difficult to read, marks may be deducted from the total. 
  • A candidate may answer question papers in English Roman Script, Hindi Devnagri Script, or Urdu Persian Script, but the language papers as a whole must be answered in any of the above scripts unless otherwise specified in the question paper.
  • The question papers will be written in English (Roman Script) and Hindi (Devnagri Script). 
  • The standard of knowledge required of candidates in compulsory papers will be that of a young man with a Bachelor's Degree from a university.

Personality Test (Viva-Voce)

The Personality Test will be the final stage of the selection process. It has a weightage of 100 marks. The test will cover topics of general interest while keeping academic interests in mind, as well as general awareness, intelligence, character, expression of power/personality, and general suitability for the service.

UPPSC PCS Result 2025 will be declared by the UPPSC once the exam is successfully conducted and candidates can check their result by following the below-provided steps:-

  1. Visit the official UPPSC website.
  2. In the advertisement section, locate the notification titled “List of Selected Candidates in Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Exam 2025.”
  3. Click on the UP PCS Result link to open the result PDF file.
  4. The result PDF will appear on the screen. Download it to your device.
  5. Press Ctrl + F to quickly find your roll number in the list of shortlisted candidates.
  6. If your roll number is listed, start preparing for the next stage of the selection process.

UPPSC PCS 2025 Exam Cut-off

The UPPSC PCS Cut-off is the minimum qualifying score required for candidates to advance to the next stage of the selection process. When setting the UPPSC PCS cut-off marks, the commission considers several factors, including:

FAQ

Candidates can download the UPPSC PCS Question Paper from the official website.

For the UPPSC PCS 2024 Exam, the application fee is Rs. 125/- for general category candidates, while reserved category candidates have to pay Rs. 65/- as an application fee.

The pattern of the Main examination has been revised by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission; now there are 8 compulsory papers in the exam. The optional/elective subjects have been removed and two new papers have been introduced which are based on Uttar Pradesh Special Knowledge.

The UPPSC PCS Notification 2025 was released on 20 February 2025.

Candidates can apply online until 4 April 2025.

A total of 200 vacancies are announced for the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Exam.

The UPPSC PCS Prelims Exam is scheduled for 12 October 2025.

Candidates must be 21 to 40 years old as of 1 July 2025.

The selection process includes a Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam and Personality Test.
