The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UPSSSC) released the PET Notification 2023 on 01 August 2023 on its official website. It is the first step or a qualifying/eligibility test for the Uttar Pradesh Government's recruitment to various Group B and C positions. Candidates are deemed eligible or ineligible for the Group B and C position based on their PET score, which is valid for one year.

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Service Commission is going to conduct the Preliminary Eligibility Test 2023 in two shifts on 28 and 29 October 2023. Admit Cards for the same are announced to be available from 19 October on the commission's website. The UPSSSC PET is a preliminary test in which the candidates will get a scorecard valid for one year. Candidates who pass this exam can apply for vacancies under Group C posts, which the UPSSSC will announce along with the Mains Exam dates. Candidates who pass the UPSSSC PET Exam are eligible to take the Mains Exam for vacancies to be advertised by UPSSSC. 

Around 20900 vacancies for Lekhpal, X-Ray Technician, Junior Assistant, and other positions were announced in 2022 for the candidates who cleared UPSSSC PET 2022.

UPSSSC PET Eligibility Criteria 2023

Candidates applying for the UPSSSC PET 2023 must know the eligibility criteria regarding educational qualifications, age, etc. The commission may reject their application if they do not meet the eligibility requirements. The detailed PET Eligibility Criteria are given below:

  1. Age Limit

The age limit will be calculated as of July 1, 2023, and the candidate must be between the ages of 18 and 40. Candidates belonging to the following categories will be eligible for upper age relaxations:

Only candidates who have completed high school/class 10th or higher are eligible to apply for the UPSSSC PET 2023.

UPSSSC PET 2023 Application Process

Interested candidates can apply for the UPSSSC PET 2023 by visiting the UPSSSC official website and following the step-by-step instructions below:

  • Visit the commission's official website.
  • On the homepage, click the Candidate Registration link under the Applicant Segment.
  • Click on the 'Apply Online' link next to the UPSSSC PET 2023 advertisement.
  • Click on 'Candidate Registration, UPSSSC PET Exam'.
  • A new page will be loaded. Complete the registration process.
  • Fill out the application form and upload all the required scanned photographs and signatures.
  • Pay the applicable fee and finish the application process.
  • Print out the application form for future use.

Dependents of freedom fighters, ex-servicemen, skilled sportspersons and women candidates will have to pay the fee as per their basic category mentioned in the table.

UP PET Selection Process 2023

The UPSSSC PET is the entry-level (preliminary exam) that candidates must pass in order to be considered for recruitment to various Group B and C positions in the UP Government. Candidates who apply for the UP PET Exam will be required to go through the following stages as part of their overall selection for the position.

  • Passing PET and securing the minimum qualifying marks. (This is the entry-level examination)

There will be a written test in PET, consisting of one paper examination in MCQ format. The UPSSSC will shortlist candidates for the Main examination of the Uttar Pradesh Government based on the marks they secured in the UPSSSC Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2023.

  • Main Exam for the relevant post

PET score cards are valid for one year from the date of issue. Applicants will be able to apply for the main examination based on their scores for that particular post. 

  • Clearing Interview/Skill Test (if applicable for the post) Round

UPSSSC PET Exam Pattern

The UPSSSC PET exam pattern will provide candidates with a detailed breakdown of factors such as marks, number of questions, timing, and so on. As a result, candidates will be able to prepare well for the exam. According to the most recent PET notice, the detailed exam pattern is as follows:

  • The exam will include objective multiple-choice questions.
  • There will be a negative marking of 0.25 (¼)marks for each wrong answer.
  • The difficulty of questions for topics numbered 1 through 9 will be of NCERT Secondary/Senior Secondary level.

UPSSSC PET Admit Card 2023

UPSSSC released the UP PET Admit Card 2023 on 19 October 2023. This Hall Ticket is valid for the Prelims exam, which is scheduled for 28 & 29 October 2023. Candidates can download their admit cards from the website by following the steps given below:

Step 1: Visit the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission's official website, @upsssc.gov.in.

Step 2: From the homepage, navigate to the Important Announcement section and click on PET Admit Card link..

Step 3: Enter your login information, including your Registrstion ID and password.

Step 4: Download UPSSSC PET 2023 Admit Card, which is available in PDF format.

Step 5: Save the PDF to your computer and print it for future use.

UPSSSC PET Answer Key 2023

In order to examine their scores and gain a better understanding of where they stand on the UPSSSC merit list, candidates can download UPSSSC PET answer key after a few days of the exam from UPSSSC's website only. Answer keys for the exam will be available on the UPSSSC's official website. Download the answer key for 2023 by following the instructions below. 

Step 1: Navigate to the UPSSSC official website from the link given above.

Step 2: Look for the "UPSSSC PET Answer Key Notice" in the notice board section and click on it.

Step 3: Alternatively, you may find the shift-wise direct links to the answer key PDFs on the website's Important Announcement section. 

Step 4: Download the answer key PDF and check your answers to calculate the score.

Step  5: Take a printout of the PDFs for future reference.

UPSSSC PET Result 2023

The UPSSSC would prepare a merit list of shortlisted candidates after successfully conducting the PET Exam 2023 for appearing in the Group B & C main Exams for the exams and vacancies published from time to time. The merit list of candidates will be published on the UPSSSC website alongside the results. Candidates can check their marks by downloading the merit list and checking the cut-off marks. To download the result, follow the steps given below. 

  • Visit the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission's official website.
  • In the result section, look for the UPSSSC PET Result link and click on it.
  • Enter the correct credentials in relevant columns and the captcha verification code to view your UPSSSC PET results.
  • Your UPSSSC PET Result and scores will be displayed on the screen. 
  • Download your UPSSSC PET Result PDF and keep a copy for future reference.

UPSSSC PET Cut-Off Marks 2023 (Expected)

UPSSSC recruits for various Group C positions, such as Junior Engineer, Lekhpal, Lower Subordinate, etc. Applicants must score above the UPSSSC PET Cut Off 2023 for their desired post and category to be considered for selection. After completing the exams, each post's UPSSSC PET Cut-Off marks will be posted on the official website.

FAQs on UPSSSC PET 2023

FAQ

There is no maximum number of attempts for the UP PET. As a result, candidates can take the exam as many times as they want if they meet the other eligibility criteria, such as age limit and educational qualification.

The UPSSSC PET is a preliminary exam with a scorecard. Based on the marks (given in the scorecard) obtained in UPSSSC PET 2023, the candidates would be allowed to appear in the mains exam for different vacancies to be advertised by UPSSSC in 2023-24.

UPSSSC PET 2023 does have a provision negative marking. An incorrect response will result in the deduction of ¼ marks assigned to that question.

The UPSSSC PET Score/Certificate will be valid for one year from the issuing date.

Overall, the difficulty level was Easy-Moderate.
