ISRO To Launch 50 Satellites In 5 Years To Boost Intelligence Ability

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) would launch 50 satellites over the next five years to collect vital spatial intelligence. ISRO chief Somnath said at the annual tech-fest organized by the Indian Institute of Technology- Bombay that these satellites will be placed at several levels in different orbits. This satellite will be a military satellite mainly for military use.

These satellites will be able to detect various activities from a range of thousands of kilometres.
ISRO chief Somnath said that the present fleet of satellites is not enough to fulfil the vision of making India a powerful nation. This will have to be increased tenfold.
These satellites will help in gathering geo-intelligence. ISRO will place satellites in different orbits of the Earth. These will be able to collect pictures of army activity and areas of thousands of kilometres.
If India launches satellites on this scale, the country's threats will be better dealt with.

ISRO will launch these satellites in one layer:

The satellites to be launched by ISRO in a single layer. under which mainly:
- GEO (Geostationary Equatorial Orbit): 36000 km
- LEO (Low Equatorial Orbit): 400 km
- Very Low Earth Orbit: Can be launched at altitudes less than 400 km.

Military satellites are mainly spy satellites. Which is mainly made for strategic purposes. Based on information from these satellites, enemy countries' military activities, military equipment, sites of strategic importance, etc., can be easily detected.
