Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya launched MedTech Mitra virtually on 25 December 2023.
- It is a strategic initiative of the Central Government to empower medtech innovators and advance healthcare solutions.
- MedTech Mitra is a platform for emerging entrepreneurs and innovators in India.
- The portal will be coordinated collaboratively by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), under the guidance of NITI Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission.
- The MedTech Mitra initiative helps people in the medical technology field work together and make progress in healthcare.
Health-related schemes/programs in India:
Janani Suraksha Yojana (2005)-
- It has been run by the National Rural Health Mission of the Government of India to reduce the mortality rate of mothers and newborns.
- The objective of this scheme is to encourage poor pregnant women to deliver in registered health institutions.
Mission Indradhanush-2014 -
- Started – December 2014 by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare
- Its objective is to vaccinate children who are deprived of vaccination.
Nutrition Campaign 2018-
- Under this, the aim is to improve the nutritional deficiency among adult girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers.
Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana -
- Beginning 1 January 2017
- Under this scheme, the government is to provide financial assistance of Rs 6000 to pregnant and lactating mothers for the first live birth.
National Health Mission-
- The Government of India started this mission in 2013. It combined the National Rural Health Mission-2005 and the National Urban Health Mission-2013.
- The mission aims to control infant mortality, maternal mortality, communicable diseases, and non-communicable diseases. It also aims to ensure demographic balance.
Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana-
- Start – February 2018
- PM-JAY is the world's largest health insurance scheme fully funded by the government.
- The scheme targets beneficiaries identified by the latest Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) data.
Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission-
- It was launched by the Prime Minister in September 2021 through a video conference.
- The goal is to give all Indian citizens a digital health ID. This ID will help hospitals, insurance firms, and citizens access health records electronically when they need them.
