The UGC NET Online Application 2025 window is now open, allowing eligible candidates to apply via the official website. The application window is open from 16 April 2025 to 7 May 2025 (until 11:59 P.M.). Candidates can apply for the UGC-NET June 2025 exclusively through the online mode. Applications submitted through any mode other than online will not be considered valid. The UGC NET June 2025 examination is scheduled to take place between 21 to 30 June 2025. Stay tuned to this page for the most recent updates on the UGC NET Notification 2025.

UGC NET June 2025

The UGC-NET is intended to evaluate the eligibility of Indian nationals for various academic and research roles, including the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D. programs. Only 6% of the candidates will pass the Assistant Professor Exam. The UGC-NET June 2025 session will be held in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode at designated centers across Indian universities and colleges.

If you're aiming for a career in teaching or research, the UGC NET (National Eligibility Test) is the way to fulfil your dreams:

  • Mandatory Qualification: If you want to teach in Universities and colleges, then qualifying NET is a major requirement as many universities and colleges demand the NET Qualification for applying for Assistant Professor roles.
  • Research Opportunities: Candidates who qualify for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) through UGC NET get a fantastic opportunity to pursue full-time research and enroll in Ph.D. programs. As per the UGC Ph.D. Regulations, 2022, these candidates are admitted to Ph.D. courses based on an interview process. JRF-qualified individuals can conduct research in their post-graduation subject or a related field and are also eligible to apply for Assistant Professor positions. Top universities, IITs, and research institutions may select JRF awardees for research roles according to their own selection procedures.

Those who secure a place in these institutions become eligible for a monthly fellowship from UGC, which helps cover tuition fees, research expenses, and living costs, allowing them to focus fully on their studies. The JRF award remains valid for three years from the date mentioned on the award letter. For candidates already enrolled in a Ph.D. program, the fellowship begins either from the date the NET results are declared or the date they join the program, whichever is later.

  • Career Advancement: Whether in academics, research, or related areas, having a NET qualification adds strong value to your resume and opens up better job opportunities.
