Step-by-Step Guide to the Online Application Process:
Step 1: Access the Official Portal: Start by visiting the dedicated recruitment website at rrbapply.gov.in.
Step 2: Open the Application Link: On the homepage, locate and click the link specifically for the Pay Level-2 post of Assistant Loco Pilot under notification CEN-01/2026 (ALP).
Step 3: Account Creation: On the subsequent page, click the 'Apply' button and select 'Create an Account'.
Step 4: Fill Initial Details: Complete the registration form by entering essential information, including your personal details, Aadhaar verification, and contact info. You will also need to create a strong password using a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
Step 5: Log In and Complete the Form: Use your newly registered mobile number or email ID and password to log in. Proceed to fill out the comprehensive application form.
Step 6: Select RRB and Zone: Choose the specific Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) you wish to apply to. During this step, you must also select your preferred posts and zones within that RRB.
Step 7: Enter Technical and Educational Info: Provide your academic and technical qualification details. You will also be required to select your chosen trade for Part B of CBT-2 and indicate your order of preference for the available posts.
Step 8: Document Upload: Upload high-quality scanned images of your photograph and signature. If you are applying under the SC/ST category, you must also upload the relevant certificate as per the specified dimensions.
Step 9: Review and Declaration: Carefully review all entered data in the application preview. Once satisfied with the accuracy of the information, complete the final declaration.
Step 10: Final Submission and Payment: Click on 'Final Submission' to proceed to the payment gateway. The application fee can be settled online via Net Banking, Credit/Debit Cards, or UPI services.
Step 11: Save Confirmation: The system will generate a confirmation page only after a successful transaction. Download and print this page for your personal records and future reference.
Note: During the ALP ONLINE APPLICATION, there will be an option to create an Account. If a candidate has already created an account for CENs notified in 2024/2025, they should use the same account credentials to log in and apply for this vacancy as well.
To complete the application process, registration candidates must pay the application fee according to their category. A notable aspect of this process is the partial or full reimbursement provided to candidates who attend the first stage of the examination.
Note: The refund is only applicable to candidates who officially sit for the Computer-Based Test; those who remain absent will not be eligible for any reimbursement.
The Railway Recruitment Board has introduced a new RRB ALP selection process from 2026. According to the revised selection process, the final merit list for the selection of ALP will be released based on the marks secured by the candidates in the CBT 2 exam and the CBAT (computer-based aptitude test). RRB ALP Admit Card 2026 will be available online at the respective regional RRB websites for each stage of the examination. RRBs typically release admit cards for each stage of the examination four to five days before the scheduled exam date. Candidates must enter their user ID and password to download the RRB ALP admit card.

The Railway Recruitment Board usually releases the RRB ALP Result separately on each regional website once the examination is completed. Each stage of the selection process will have its own set of results.
