IAF Agniveer Vayu 01/2025 Notification has been issued by the Indian Air Force on 2 January 2024. Agniveer Air Force Intake Exam 2025: Overview

Candidates brought in through the Agnipath program will be designated as Agniveers. Agniveer Vayu Intake Eligibility Criteria 2025 

When it comes to Indian Air Force Agniveer eligibility criteria, the IAF is highly demanding. Candidates who meet all requirements will be able to take the Indian Air Force Agniveer test pattern. Those who do not comply will be rejected from the screening process.

IAF Agniveervayu Nationality

Only Indian citizens (male & female) are eligible to apply for the Agniveer Vayu Intanke 2025.

IAF Agniveervayu Age Limit

To be eligible for the Agniveer Vayu Intake, candidates should be born between 2 January 2004 to 2 July 2007 (inclusive of both dates). Upon successfully clearing all phases of the Selection Procedure, candidates must not exceed 21 years of age as of the enrollment date

IAF Agniveervayu Educational Qualification  

Candidates must have the following educational qualifications to be able to apply for the IAF Agniveervayu.

Candidates must have passed an Intermediate/10+2/ Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, and English from Education Boards recognized by the Central, State, and UT, with at least 50% in aggregate and 50% in English.  

OR 

Passed a three-year diploma course in engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile/Computer Science/Instrumentation Technology/Information Technology) from a Central, State, or UT-recognized Polytechnic Institute with 50% in aggregate and 50% in English in Diploma Course (or Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course).  

OR 

Passed a two-year Vocational Course including non-vocational subjects such as Physics and Mathematics from Education Boards recognized by the Central, State, and UT with 50% aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational Course or Matriculation if English is not a subject.

Other than Science Subjects

Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any stream/subject with at least 50% aggregate and 50% in English. 

OR 

Passed a two-year Vocational Course with a minimum of 50% in aggregate and 50% in English in the Vocational Course (or in Intermediate / Matriculation if English is not a subject in the Vocational Course). 

Note - 1: Candidates who are eligible for the Science Subjects examination (including Intermediate/ 10+2/three years' diploma course in engineering or two years' vocational course with non-vocational subjects of Physics and Maths) are also eligible for the Other than Science Subjects examination and will be given the option of appearing in both Science Subjects and Other than Science Subjects examination in one sitting when filling out the online registration form. 

Note - 2: Only the exact aggregate percentage of marks before decimal as written in the marks sheet of the 10+2/Intermediate/Equivalent Examination/Three Years Diploma Course/Two Years Vocational Course OR calculated per the rules of the concerned Education Board / Polytechnic Institute shall be considered (for example, 49.99% should be taken as 49% and not rounded off to 50%). 

IAF Agniveervayu Marital Status

  • Only unmarried Indian male and female candidates are eligible to serve as Agniveervayu in the IAF. At the time of enrollment, candidates must produce documentation that they are "unmarried." 
  • Agniveervayu will be prohibited from marrying for the duration of their four-year IAF service. A candidate may be discharged from service if he or she marries during his or her tenure or is discovered to be married despite having provided a certificate declaring that he or she is "unmarried."

IAF Agniveervayu Physical and Medical Standards

To be chosen as an Agniveervayu, a candidate must be physically and intellectually fit to undertake tasks in any part of the world, regardless of climate or terrain. The following are the physical and medical requirements for becoming an Agniveervayu.

Permanent body tattoos are not permitted; however, tattoos on the inner face of the forearms (inside of elbow to wrist), back (dorsal) part of the hand/reverse side of the palm, and soles of the feet are permitted. Tribals with tattoos that adhere to their tribe's customary traditions may be considered.

  1. Candidates should bring their prescription and, if necessary, corrective lenses. The most recent prescription should include the diopter measurement, the Ophthalmologist's registration number, stamp, signature, and prescription date within a month of the medical examination.  
  2. Important - Corneal surgery (PRK/LASIK) is not acceptable.

IAF Agniveervayu General Health

The candidate's anatomy should be normal, with no missing appendages. He or she must be free of any active or latent medical or surgical impairment, communicable disease, infection, or skin condition, whether acute or chronic. The candidate must be physically and intellectually fit to serve in any location, in any climate or terrain.

Agniveer Air Force Intake Application Process

The online application period for Agniveer Airforce will commence on January 17, 2024, and close on February 6, 2024, at 23:00 hours. The process to register online is straightforward. To apply for the Indian Air Force Agniveer Vayu, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official Indian Air Force website.
  2. On the homepage, click the link to register for the Agniveer Vayu intake 01/2025.
  3. Initiate the application process for the Indian Air Force Agniveer 01/2025 Batch by providing your details like contact information, name, phone number, and email address.
  4. Proceed to upload scanned copies of your documents, including a photograph and signature, following the prescribed format.
  5. Complete the payment of your application fees using available online payment methods such as credit card, debit card, or net banking.
  6. Finally, submit your application by pressing the submit button after successfully paying the exam fees.
  7. Take a printout of the IAF Application Form’s final submission for future reference.

Agniveer Vayu Intake Selection Process 2025

The selection process of Agniveer Vayu consists of 3 phases explained below:-

Phase-I - Online Written Test (CBT)

The Computer Based Test (CBT) will be objective type and questions in this examination will be bilingual (English & Hindi) except for English paper. Candidates opting for both Science subjects and other Science subjects will have to attempt a single online test, which will be conducted in one sitting, on the same system. Candidates are required to bring one blue or black ball pen and an original AADHAR card for Phase-I testing.

Phase-II

After clearing the Phase-I Computer Based Test the SHORTLISTED candidates will be qualified for the Phase-II test at a designated ASC. This phase includes the following assessments:

  • Additional Skills and or Achievements
  • Eligibility verification
  • Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
  • Adaptability Test- I
  • Adaptability Test-II

At their respective ASCs, candidates who qualify for Adaptability Test-II will receive a medical appointment letter.

Phase-III - Medical Examination

The Air Force Medical Team will conduct a medical examination in accordance with IAF medical standards and current policy on the subject matter. Medical examination will include the following  Baseline Investigation of the candidate:-

  • Blood Haemogram - Hb, TLC, and DLC
  • Urine RE/ME
  • Biochemistry:-
    • Blood Sugar: - Fasting & PP
    • Serum Cholesterol
    • Urea, Uric acid, and creatinine
    • LFT—Serum Bilirubin, SGOT, SGPT.
  • X-Ray chest 
  • ECG
  • Tests for Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Abuse.

Note: Candidates who have been convicted medically unfit may appeal to the 'Appeal Medical Board' (AMB) by depositing Rs. 40/- in a Government Treasury/RBI/SBI via an Electronic Military Receivable Order/ Military Receivable Order (e MRO/ MRO).

The AMB application, along with an original copy of the e-MRO/MRO and a photocopy of the Unfitness Certificate, must be sent to the ASC representative within three working days of the medical examination.

During the initial medical examination, appeal medical board, and medical examination prior to enrolling, the recruitment medical officer and specialist doctors of the Armed Forces are the final authorities on declaring a candidate fit or unsuitable.

Candidates will be subject to Armed Forces standards, which may differ from civil standards. After the appeal to the  medical board, there is no provision for representation or review.

Agniveer Vayu Intake Exam Pattern 2025

The exam pattern for Phase - 1 (Science and Other than Science subjects) as well as for the Phase 2 Physical Fitness Test (PFT) has been explained in detail below.

Phase-I - Online Test

To be hired as an Agniveer, you must first pass the written test. The written test is different for science students and non-science students. The exam pattern is described below for your convenience:

  • One mark will be rewarded for the right answer, and a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Phase-II Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a designated ASC for a Physical Fitness Test (PFT), which will consist of a 1.6-kilometer run that must be completed in seven minutes for male candidates and eight minutes for female candidates. To qualify for the Physical Fitness Test, male candidates must accomplish 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, and 20 squats in the allotted time.

Adaptability Test- I.

All applicants who pass the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) must undergo the Adaptability Test-I (objective type written test) to determine their suitability for employment in the IAF, which includes deployment in a variety of geographic topography, weather, and operational conditions.

Adaptability Test-II

According to current policy, all applicants who pass the Adaptability Test-I must take the Adaptability Test-II. The purpose of the Adaptability Test-II is to select individuals who can adapt to the environment of the Indian Air Force and adjust to military life.

Agniveer Vayu Intake Result 2025 

The IAF Agniveervayu Result 2025 will be released following the conclusion of each examination stage. IAF Agniveer Vayu Intake Salary 2025

Agniveervayu registered in this Scheme will receive a monthly Agniveervayu package of 30,000/- with a fixed yearly increment. Furthermore, risk and hardship allowances (where applicable in the IAF) as well as clothing and travel allowances will be paid.

  1. On completion of their engagement period, Agniveervayu will be given a one-time Seva Nidhi package that includes their monthly contribution as well as a matching contribution from the government, as shown below:

Medical and CSD Facilities

For the duration of their engagement period in IAF.

Life insurance cover

Agniveervayu will be supplied with non-contributory life insurance coverage in the amount of 48 lakhs for the term of their participation as Agniveervayu in the IAF, and they will be ineligible for Air Force Group Insurance Fund (AFGIS) schemes/benefits.

Compensation in case of Death and Disability

  • Compensation for Death

Agniveervayu will not be subject to the terms of the IAF Pension Regulations/Rules (as revised from time to time). In the event of death, the Agniveer Corpus Fund will make the following payments to the Next of Kin (NOK):- 

Categorization of Death

The death for provision of financial benefits to Agniveervayu will be categorized as follows:-

  • Category X Death from natural causes that were neither caused nor exacerbated by military service during the engagement period.
  • Category Y Death as a result of reasons acknowledged to be traceable to or exacerbated by military duty, or as a result of accidents/mishaps in the performance of responsibilities, including training during the engagement period.
  • Category Z During the engagement period, death from acts of violence/attack by terrorists, anti-social elements, enemies, during border skirmishes/war/peacekeeping operations/aid to civil power, etc; and during operational preparation and training for war, including battle inoculation training/exercise; and accidental deaths due to natural calamities/operations specially notified by the government, etc.

Compensation for Disability:

If an individual is put in the Permanent Low Medical Category (LMC), the compensation will be calculated using a percentage of impairment and attributability. To calculate disability compensation, the amount of disability or functional incapacity shall be established as follows:

  1. Once-off ex-gratia 44/25/15 Lakhs from the Public Fund based on the percentage of disability (100/75/50).
  2. Full compensation for the total period of up to four years (starting from the date of infirmity), including the Seva Nidhi component (from public funds).
  3. Balance accumulated in the individual's Seva Nidhi fund (as of today), including interest and government contributions from the Agniveervayu Corpus Fund.

Candidates who are currently employed by the Indian Air Force are not eligible to apply for the Indian Air Force Agniveer post.
