Interested and eligible candidates with an NCC C certificate can apply for this course through the Indian Army's official website between July 5th and August 3rd, 2023. Through this notification, the Indian Army is inviting applications for the Short Service Commission (SSC). Unmarried male and female applicants may apply for the recruitment drive. According to the official notification, the candidate must be:-
an Indian citizen, or
A subject of Nepal, or
a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia, and Vietnam.
The applicant's age must be between 19 and 25 years as on January 01, 2024 (which means the candidate is not born earlier than 02 Jan 1999 and not later than 01 Jan 2005; both dates inclusive).

Following the selection of "Officer Entry Appln/Login," click "Registration." (This does not apply to applicants who have already registered.)
Now, fill out the registration form with all of the necessary information.
Once you've registered, navigate to the "Apply Online" section of the Dashboard.
Before proceeding to the next step in the process, fill out the application form completely and click Save & Continue each time.
After completing the last segment, you will be taken to the 'Summary of your information' page, where you can review and edit the entries you have already made. Only after you have double-checked that all of your information is correct, click the 'Submit Now' button.

Candidates must print two copies of their application with their Roll Number 30 minutes after the online application closes on the last day.
NOTE: Candidates must note that they can only attend one of the Services Selection Board (SSB) interviews, i.e. NCC (Spl) Entry-55 Course (Apr 2024) OR SSC (NT)-119 Course (Apr 2024) / SSC (NT) (Women)-33 Course (Apr 2024) as CDSE candidate. Candidates must provide an undertaking to this effect in the declaration section of the online application.
After being shortlisted based on eligibility, applicants who wish to apply for the Indian Army NCC Special Entry recruitment will be invited for an SSB Interview. The SSB Interview will be conducted in two stages. Candidates who pass Stage I move on to Stage II. Candidates will be placed on a merit list based on their performance in the SSB Interview. Subject to meeting all eligibility criteria, selected candidates will be detailed for Pre-Commission training at OTA, Chennai based on their position in the final order of merit, up to the number of available vacancies. Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai provides 49 weeks of training. The University of Madras will award a 'Post Graduate Diploma in Defence Management and Strategic Studies to all candidates who successfully complete Pre-Commission training at OTA, Chennai.
Candidates must obey the following conditions:
Candidates will not be permitted to marry during their training period, nor will they be permitted to live with their parents/guardians until they have completed their full training at OTA.
Even if a candidate is successful at the SSB interview or medical examination, he or she will not be inducted for training if he or she marries after the date of his or her application.
If a candidate marries while in training, he or she will be discharged and must reimburse the government for all expenses incurred on his or her behalf. It also applies to the wards of Army personnel who were killed in battle.
An officer is on probation for six months from the date he or she receives his or her commission. If he/she is reported as unsuitable to retain his/her commission during the probationary period, his/her services may be terminated at any time, whether before or after the probationary period expires.
Regular army personnel, both male and female, will be granted a short service commission for 14 years, i.e. for an initial period of 10 years that can be extended by four years. Male and female officers who wish to continue serving in the Indian Army after the expiration of their ten-year Short Service Commission may be considered for the grant of Permanent Commission (PC) in the tenth year of their Short Service Commission in accordance with the relevant policies as issued from time to time.

Stipend for Gentlemen or Lady Cadets for the duration of their training in Service Academies, i.e. during their time at OTA will be ₹ 56,100/-p.m. Following successful commissioning, the officer's pay will be fixed in the first Cell of Level 10 of the Pay Matrix. Ans. Candidates may appear in the examination for years until the maximum age limit is reached.
Q. What is the educational requirement for NCC 'C' Certificate holders to enrol in the NCC Special Entry 55 course in 2024?

Ans. The NCC Special Entry is a short service commission entry for NCC Cadets that allows both male and female NCC Cadets to join the Officers Training Academy Chennai.
Q. I completed NCC training and received a 'C' certificate. What options are available to me?
Ans. Certain NCC 'C' certificate holder vacancies are reserved for IMA and OTA. For IMA, you must apply through the UPSC Combined Defence Services Examination (CDSE), and for OTA, you must apply through the NCC Special Entry Scheme, which is advertised in June/July and November/December each year. NCC Special Entry is a non-UPSC entry scheme.
