BSF Constable 2024-25 - Vacancy Details

The Border Security Force (BSF) has released a notification for the recruitment of Constable (Tradesman) in various trades, including Cook, Water Carrier, Sweeper, Waiter, Washerman, Cobbler, Tailor, Carpenter, Barber, Painter, and Draughtsman. BSF Tradesman Nationality

To become a BSF Tradesman, a candidate must meet specific nationality requirements (detailed below).

• The candidate must be an Indian citizen. 
• Subject of Nepal or Bhutan may also apply for BSF’s Tradesman positions. They will, however, be required to show a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

To be eligible for the BSF Constable Tradesman Exam 2025, candidates must be between 18 to 25 years of age as on 25 August 2025.

BSF Tradesman Educational Qualification 2025

The educational qualifications for the BSF Tradesman Recruitment 2025 are as follows. Before applying for the BSF Tradesman position, candidates must be aware of all the prerequisites.

Note:

• Candidates having multiple skills will be given preference.
• Candidates having other than State Board/Central Board certificates and educational certificates shall accompany the notice by Government of India stating that such qualification is equivalent to Matric/10th class pass for a Central Government job.

BSF Tradesman Physical Standards 2025 as on 23-08-2025

Candidates' physical parameters, such as height, weight, and chest (for men only), are measured to meet the Physical Standards for BSF Tradesmen. Candidates who do not match the criteria will be disqualified for further stages. BSF Tradesman Physical Details are given in the table below:

BSF Tradesman Medical Standards 

For the position of BSF Tradesman, the candidate must be medically fit. Candidates will be evaluated on the basis of their physical and mental well-being. 

• There must be no knock knees, flat feet, varicose veins, or slanted eyes in the candidate. They must be physically fit to fulfil their duties everywhere, especially at high elevations and in border regions. 

Note: Applicants who do not meet the BSF as mentioned earlier Tradesman eligibility criteria will have their applications denied and will not be able to take the computer-based exam and their candidature will be rejected.

BSF Constable Tradesman Recruitment Application Process 2025

The Border Security Force (BSF) has begun the online application process for the recruitment of Constable (Tradesman) posts across various trades. Interested and eligible male and female candidates can apply through the official recruitment portal of BSF only, within the timeframe given in the official notice. The application procedure is divided into three steps: One Time Registration (OTR), filling out the online application form, and payment of the examination fee via digital modes. 

Candidates must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria and have all the required documents ready before applying. To prevent technical issues at the last moment, it’s best to apply in advance. Candidates can complete their OTR and fill out the BSF Tradesman application form by following the simple steps given below:

Step 1: Visit the official BSF website 

Step 2: Click on the Apply Online link given in front of Constable (Tradesmen) (CT_trade_07/2025) recruitment on the home page.

Step 3: Complete One Time Registration (OTR) using your name, mobile number, and email ID.

Step 4: Receive your Registration ID and password on the registered mobile and email.

Step 5: Log in using your credentials to access the application form.

Step 6: Click on ‘Apply Here’ next to the BSF Constable (Tradesman) post.

Step 7: Fill in the online application form with accurate personal and educational details.

Step 8: Upload the required documents in the prescribed format.

Step 9: Pay the examination fee through available digital payment methods.

Step 10: Submit the application form and download the confirmation page for future reference.

BSF Tradesman Application Fees

Candidates are required to pay the BSF Tradesman application fee based on their category to complete the form submission process:

• General (UR), EWS, and OBC candidates must pay ₹100 as the examination fee along with ₹50 as service charges.
• Female candidates, SC/ST applicants, serving BSF personnel, and Ex-Servicemen are exempted from paying the fee.

The payment can be made through net banking or credit/debit cards of any bank, or by visiting the nearest authorized Common Service Centre (CSC).

BSF Constable Tradesman Selection Process 2025

The BSF Constable (Tradesman) Selection Process 2025 is conducted in multiple phases to assess the physical fitness, written aptitude, and trade-specific skills of the candidates. The entire recruitment procedure consists of three main phases, followed by a final medical examination.

1. Phase I – Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
   • This is a qualifying stage, in which candidates are evaluated based on height, chest (for male candidates only), and race performance.
   • Candidates who meet the prescribed physical standards and complete the PET are shortlisted for the next phase.
2. Phase II – Written Examination
   • This is a computer-based examination (CBT) consisting of objective-type MCQ questions.
   • Qualifying marks are 35% for UR Category/EWS & Ex-Servicemen and 33% for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
3. Phase III – Document Verification & Trade Test
   • Shortlisted candidates must present their original documents for verification.
   • A practical trade test is conducted to assess the relevant skills of the candidates for which they have applied.
4. Final Stage – Detailed Medical Examination (DME)
   • Candidates who clear all the above stages are then called for a medical examination conducted by a Medical Board of Officers.
   • The DME ensures that the candidate is physically and medically fit for service in the Border Security Force.

BSF Constable Tradesman PET Exam Pattern 2025

Candidates who are selected based on their performance in the written examination will be invited to take the PST and PET exams. Candidates will be requested to go through the height bar at the start, and those with less height will be excluded and will not be allowed to participate in the rest of the recruiting process.

Candidates who pass the height test will be subjected to the following Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

BSF Constable Tradesman Written Exam Pattern 2025

The written exam will be the same for all positions and will focus on assessing the candidate's aptitude. The BSF Tradesman Written Exam Pattern is as follows:

• The written exam will be worth 100 points and will include CBT (Computer-Based Test) or OMR-based objective-type multiple-choice questions.
• The qualifying marks for UR/EWS/Ex-Servicemen are 35% and 33% for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
• The level of the question will correspond to the knowledge expected of a class-10th pass candidate.

The BSF Constable Tradesman Admit Cards will be made available by the Border Security Force 7 to 10 days before the examination. 

• Separate admit cards are released for each phase of the selection process.
• Those without the BSF Tradesman Admit Card will not be allowed into the exam hall.

Step 1: Go to the official website of the Border Security Force.

Step 2: On the home page, click the “Download Admit card link for BSF Constable (Tradesman) exam”.

Step 3: Enter your login information, including your Roll Number and Date of Birth.

Step 4: After entering the security code, click the Submit button.

Step 5: The screen will display your e-Admit card.

Step 6: Download the Admit Card and print two copies for future reference.

BSF Constable Tradesman Answer Key 2025   

Candidates may get the BSF Tradesman Answer Key 2025 by going to the official website at rectt.bsf.gov.in. Candidates can use this Answer Key to verify their answers and evaluate their performance. Candidates must use their login credentials, which include their roll number and date of birth, to get the BSF Tradesman Answer Key 2025.

Steps to download the answer key are given below:

• Visit the Border Security Force's official webpage at bsf.gov.in.
• On the homepage, click the “Recruitment” tab.
• Choose “Answer Key” from the drop-down menu.
• Click on the link “BSF Constable Tradesman Answer Key 2025”.

Candidates, on the other hand, can access their question paper, responses, and answer key, as well as raise objections (if any) via the Objection Management Window. To do so, candidates must log in to the portal with their credentials and visit the Objection tab/window to view their question paper and file an objection. Any objection(s) raised through any other method will be ignored.

BSF Constable Tradesman Result 2025

Border Security Force will release the BSF Tradesman Result for each stage individually, including the names and roll numbers of candidates qualified for that stage. Around a month after the exam, the results will be released in PDF format, along with the cut-off marks. Candidates can view/download their Tradesman Result 2025 through the official website.

BSF Constable Tradesman Cut-off 2025

Candidates preparing for the BSF Tradesman test must know the BSF cut-off marks to understand the scores/marks required to clear the exam. BSF Constable Tradesman Salary 2025

Constables (Tradesman) in the Border Security Force will be entitled to get a salary in the pay Matrix Level-3 of 7th CPC (Revised Pay Structure). The monthly salary of Constable (Tradesman) includes the basic pay ranging from Rs. 21,700 to 69,100/-. 

Other allowance: In addition to the basic salary, the BSF Constables are entitled to other allowances as admissible to Central Govt. employees from time to time.
