Women and Child Development and Child Empowerment Minister Smt. Mamta Bhupesh on August 16, in the presence of Jaipur Child Empowerment Department Secretary, Dr. Aarushi Malik, released the departmental innovation "Vatsalya (Foster Care) campaign" and the poster of child rights e-box.
"Vatsalya (Foster Care) Campaign" is an opportunity for children between the age of 0 to 18 years to grow up in a family environment.
To provide family care and affection and caress to the children who are deprived of family care and living in child care institutions, the state government is running the "Vatsalya (Foster Care) Scheme" through the Department of Child Empowerment.
Under the scheme, a provision has been made by the State Government to provide financial assistance of Rs.4000/- per month per child. Presently 51 children are being benefited under the scheme.
Under the scheme, any willing couple or family can take a child from a care institution in foster care for a fixed period to provide family care and affection. Vatsalya Abhiyan will be run by the state government to promote foster care.
For the prevention of crime and exploitation against children, "Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015" and "Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act 2012" are applicable, under which Child Empowerment Department, Juvenile Justice Board in the state Child Welfare Committees, Special Juvenile Police Units are functioning.
In the form of innovation by the Child Empowerment Department Child Rights e-Box are being set up to provide assistance to the children by the state government who are trapped in any trouble or against whom any violence or any kind of crime has been committed and by any other person.
Children who are victims of any kind of violence, crime or exploitation can get immediate relief from the Child Empowerment Department by scanning the QR code through "Child Rights e-Box" or by sending their problems via email. .
Through "Child Rights e-Box", any person or child can send his/her complaint to the department by email baalhaq@rajasthan.gov.in, on which the Police, District Child Protection Unit and Childline 1098 will be contacted by the Child Empowerment Department. Appropriate action will be ensured through the medium.
