A Total of 131 Padma Awards were given in 2026

1. This year, the Government of India announced a total of 131 Padma Awards.
2. 5 people received the Padma Vibhushan, the highest of the three categories, given for truly exceptional service to the nation. 
3. 13 people were honored with the Padma Bhushan for distinguished and high-order contributions to the country. 
4. The remaining 113 awards were Padma Shri, recognising outstanding work at a broader level across India.
