ONDC gets Startup of the Year Award at 14th India Digital Awards

Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) was awarded “Start-up of the Year” at the 14th India Digital Awards on 29 February 2024.

Award to ONDC for Digital Commerce:

• ONDC has been given this award for developing a unique open network of its kind for digital commerce in India.
• Established in 2010, the India Digital Awards recognizes excellence in digital initiatives undertaken by the government, businesses and individuals in the country.
• This recognition at the renowned India Digital Summit is a testament to ONDC's commitment towards digital excellence and innovation.
• ONDC noted that it has received the award for its potential impact in revolutionizing e-commerce and leveling digital opportunities for all Indians.

About Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC):

• ONDC falls under the purview of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), which operates within the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India.
• It aims to democratize e-commerce by enabling sellers to reach buyers through an open network.
• Since its commencement in 2021, ONDC has experienced rapid growth, attracting participation from prominent industry players, including local vendors and artisans.

India Digital Summit 2024:

• India Digital Summit was organized in Mumbai on 28 February 2024. On this occasion, Information and Broadcasting Secretary Sanjay Jaju addressed the 18th India Digital Summit in Mumbai. The media and entertainment sector is witnessing rapid change due to access through smartphones and data. There are 60 OTT platforms operating in India and many in regional languages.
• The Film Facilitation Center provides single window clearance for industry players and promotes film production in the country.
