India wins 43 medals at 1st Asian U-15 & U-17 Boxing Championships

India wins 43 medals at 1st Asian U-15 & U-17 Boxing Championships Sport 4 min read

The young Indian boxing contingent won 43 medals -15 gold, 6 silver, and 22 bronze- to finish third in the overall medal tally at the first Asian U-15 & U-17 Boxing Championships 2025.

The newly formed Asian Boxing organised the first Asian U-15 and U-17 Boxing Championships 2025 in Amman, Jordan, from April 17 to 1 May, 2025.

The Asian Boxing with its headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand, is affiliated with the World Boxing and recognised by the Olympic Council of Asia.

At Amman, both the U-15 and U-17 Boxing Championships for boys and girls in various categories were held simultaneously.

Indian Medal Winners at Amman

Indian boxers put up an excellent performance in the U-15 Championship. They were the top-performing country with 11 gold medals. The Indian girls won 10 out of the 11 gold medals won by India. In the U-15 Championship, the Indian contingent won 25 medals - 11 gold, 3 silver, and 11 bronze.

In the U-17 Championship, the Indian contingent won 18 medals - 4 gold, 3 silver, and 11 bronze medals.

Silver -3 medals 

Boys 

  • Abhijeet (61 kg),Rudraksh Singh Khaidem (46 kg), Lakshay Phogat (64 kg)

Bronze -11 medals 

Boys 

  • Hardik Dahiya (43 kg),Yash Nikam (30-33 kg), Prikshit Balahra (40 kg), Sanchit Jayani (49 kg), Nelson Khwairakpam (55 kg), Parth (67 kg),Harsil (37 kg).

Girls 

  • Samruddhi Shinde (55 kg), Linthoi (49 kg), Kanishka (64 kg), Manshi Malik (70 kg)

  • Khushi Chand (46 kg), Jannat (54 kg), Anshika (80+ kg), Ahaana Sharma (50 kg)
