World number two ranked men’s tennis player Carlos Alcaraz and world number one ranked women's tennis player Iga Swiatek won the Indian Wells 1000 men’s and women's titles, respectively.
World number two Carlos Alcaraz defeated Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev in the final of the Indian Wells ATP Master 1000 title, which was played at Indian Wells in California, United States, on 17 March 2024. It was Carlos Alcaraz's second consecutive Indian Wells tennis title and first title win after winning the men’s singles title at the Wimbledon 2023.
Carlos Alcaraz became the second player after Rafael Nadal to win five Master 1000 titles before turning 21.
The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) organises nine Masters 1000 tournaments annually. These are Indian Wells, Miami Open, Madrid Open, Italian Open, Canadian Open, Cincinnati Masters, Shanghai Masters, Paris Masters, and Monte-Carlo Masters.
The winner of each tournament wins 1000 ranking points.
