Ghanshyam Prasad, Chairman of the Central Electricity Authority, formally unveiled the 17th edition of 'ELECRAMA 2027’, the world's largest electrical show, in New Delhi.
This program is being organized by the Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers Association. During the event, he also unveiled the logo of ELECRAMA 2027.
In this edition, Germany will be the partner country. ELECRAMA is the premier showcase platform of the Indian electrical industry ecosystem and is the largest standalone show of the electrical and allied equipment industry.
This 5-day event will begin on February 20, 2027, next year and will continue till February 24 in Greater Noida. President of ELECRAMA 2027, Hartek Singh, said that the main focus areas of this edition will be sustainability, innovation, automation, quality, safety and reliability.
In his address, Mr. Prasad said that India has the potential to become a leader in hydro pump storage capacity and can easily surpass the United States and Japan, which currently hold the second and third positions respectively, with hydro pump storage capacities of about 22 and 27 gigawatts.
He stated that India's current capacity is about 7.5 gigawatts. He called upon the Indian electrical industry to strive to achieve 100 percent self-reliance in manufacturing and supply chains to ensure the nation's energy security.
Singh said that around 1100 exhibitors from across the world are expected to participate in this event, and it aims to organize about 25,000 B2B meetings to bring meaningful business outcomes.
ELECRAMA is the world's largest standalone showcase of the electrical and allied equipment industry, organized every two years by the Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers Association (IEEMA).
Since its inception in the year 1990, it has grown from 250 exhibitors to more than 1,500, showcasing the entire energy ecosystem—from source to socket.
