UAE Launches World's First 10G U6GHz Internet Network in 2026

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has launched the world's first 10G U6GHz internet network, which provides very high speed and low latency, and paves the way for advanced technology and future 6G connectivity.
This announcement was made during the SAMENA Council Leaders’ Summit 2026 and was launched by the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA).
The U6GHz spectrum operates in the frequency range of 6425-7125 MHz. It is often called the "Golden Band" because it provides both wide coverage and high speed at the same time.
This means that more people can use the internet simultaneously without interruption. It is strong enough to handle heavy data traffic, making it ideal for today’s internet needs.
This new network in the UAE is very fast and powerful. It can provide download speeds of up to 10 Gbps and upload speeds of up to 1 Gbps.
Such high speed makes everyday online activities much easier. People can download large files within seconds, watch ultra HD videos without buffering, and enjoy fast response times in online gaming and apps.
Another important feature is low latency, which means very little delay. It is especially beneficial for advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud services, and virtual reality. The journey of building this network was not completed overnight. The UAE started working on it gradually.
In the year 2024, the government approved the use of the U6GHz spectrum for mobile services. After that, in the year 2025, several tests were conducted, in which very high speeds were successfully achieved.
Finally, in 2025, with the help of global telecom companies and local operators, this network was launched for commercial use. The U6GHz network helps meet this demand and supports the development of smart cities, self-driving systems, and AI-based services.
The internet began in the 1960s as ARPANET. It was a project of the United States Department of Defense, aimed at sharing data securely and in a decentralized manner using packet switching.
On January 1, 1983, with the adoption of the TCP/IP protocol, it became a global network. In the year 1989, the invention of the World Wide Web by Tim Berners-Lee played an important role in making it accessible to the general public.
Year 1971: Ray Tomlinson sent the first email.
Year 1993: The first popular graphical browser, Mosaic, was released.
Year 1998: Google was established, which brought a revolution in the field of search.
2000s: The rise of social media (Facebook, 2004) and mobile internet (iPhone, 2007).
1G (1980s): Analog voice.
2G (1990s): Digital voice and SMS.
3G (2000s): Mobile internet access.
4G/LTE (2010s): High-speed data, which enabled streaming and the app economy.
5G (2020s): Low latency, large-scale machine connectivity, and high-speed broadband.
6G (future, around 2030): Intelligent networks, 3D holographic communication, and digital twins.
