The winners of the 2025 Laureus World Sports awards were honoured in a glittering ceremony in Madrid, Spain, on 21st April 2025.
The Laureus World Sports Award, which was established in 2000, is considered one of the most prestigious Sports awards in the world.
Armanda Duplantis - Three time nominee Swedish Pole vaulter was given the award by last year winner Novak Djokovic of Serbia.
Armada Duplantis is the first athlete to win back-to-back gold medals in the Olympics.
He won the gold medal in pole vault in the 2020 Tokyo and 2024 Paris Olympics.
Simone Biles - Artistic Gymnast of the United States of America.
It was the fourth Sportswoman of the Year Award for Simone Biles.
She is one of the most decorated gymnasts in history with 11 11 Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals.

The Laureus World Sports Awards were established by the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation in 2000.
The Laureus Sport for Good is a charitable institution with its headquarters in London, United Kingdom.
The athletes in seven categories —Sportswoman, Sportsman, Team, Breakthrough, Comeback, Action, and Sport for Good — are shortlisted by votes cast by over 1,000 sports media representatives from more than 70 countries.
The nominees for the Disability category are shortlisted by the International Paralympic Committee.
The final winners are selected by the Laureus World Sports Academy which consist of eminent sports persons.
The Laureus World Sport Academy also selects the winners of the Lifetime Achievement and Iconic awards.
