Continuing her impressive performance, Indian badminton prodigy Anmol Kharb won the women’s singles title at the Polish International Badminton Championships. 17-year-old Anmol Kharb won her first senior international title last week by winning the Belgian International Badminton Championships singles title.
The USD 3000 prize money 2024 Polish International Badminton Championship was held in Lublin, Poland, from 19-22 September 2024.
Anmol Kharb won her second senior title by beating Milena Schnider of Switzerland in the final of the Polish International Badminton Championship on 21 September 2024.
Anmol Kharb, ranked 165 in the world, defeated her higher-ranked opponent, Milena Schnider, ranked 141 in the world, in straight sets, 21-12, 21-8, in just 33 minutes.
In the semi-finals, Anmol defeated 146th-ranked Frederikke Lund of Denmark in straight sets, 21-15, 21-12.
During her entire campaign in the Polish International tournament, Anmol did not lose a single set.
Indian badminton players participated in the women's and men’s singles and doubles events. There was no Indian entry for the mixed doubles.
19-year-old Lakshya Sharma reached the semi-final before losing to Gustav Bjorkler of Sweden. The men’s single title was won by Denmark’s Ditlev Jaeger Holm.
In the men’s doubles, the Indian pair of Ishaan Bhatnagar-Sankar Prasad Udayakumar and PS Ravikrishna-Akshan Shetty reached the semifinal stage before being knocked out.
Ishaan Bhatnagar-Sankar Prasad Udayakumar lost to the Polish pair of Robert Cybul Bulski and Szymon Slepecki.
The PS Ravikrishna-Akshan Shetty pair lost to the eventual winner, the Singaporean pair of Eng Keat Wesley Koh and Junsuke Kubo.
The Indian women’s doubles pair of Anagha Aravinda Pai and Ridhi Kaur Toor reached the quarter-final stage before bowing out of the tournament.
