Alia, Sakshi Malik named in Time's list of 100 most influential people

Time magazine has released the list of 100 most influential personalities of the world on 17 April 2024. In this list, along with various well-known personalities of the world, many famous personalities of India were included. Actor Alia Bhatt and wrestler Sakshi Malik are prominently involved in this.

• Yulia Navalnaya, wife of late Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, has also been included in this list.
• This time, 15 artists, 15 titans, 16 icons, 24 leaders, 15 innovators and 15 pioneers have been included in Time magazine.

Many people of Indian origin included in Time's list:

• Many people of Indian origin have also been included in this list of Time. In which the names of World Bank President Ajay Banga, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and actor-director Dev Patel are prominently included.
• The Time list includes America's Energy Loan Programme Office Director Jigar Shah. Priyamvada Natarajan, professor of astronomy and physics at Yale University, is also included. Apart from these, Indian origin restaurant owner Asma Khan has also been included.

About Alia Bhatt:

• Alia Bhatt was born on March 15, 1993 in Mumbai. Mahesh Bhatt's films are quite renowned, and Soni Razdan has had a notable career in Bollywood as well. Soni Razdan is Mahesh Bhatt's second wife. Pooja Bhatt is Alia's step sister.
• Alia Bhatt made her debut in Bollywood with the film 'Student of the Year' in 2012.  From 2012 till now, Alia Bhatt has given 12 hit films in her 12 year career.

About Sakshi Malik:

• Time Magazine has considered Indian wrestler Sakshi Malik as an influential personality in the list of icons. Sakshi had launched a campaign against sexual exploitation in wrestling against Brij Bhushan Singh. This fight of Sakshi has been mentioned in Time magazine. Time magazine wrote that Sakshi gave up wrestling, but fought bravely against those who harassed women.
• Malik started learning wrestling at the age of 12. However, her mother did not want her daughter to become a wrestler. Sakshi's father Sukhbir Malik is a bus conductor in DTC.

About Ajay Banga:

• Banga was born on 10 November 1959 in Pune. His father Harbhajan Singh Banga was a Lieutenant General in the Indian Army.
• Ajay Banga has done his schooling from Jalandhar and Shimla, graduation from DU and MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. In 2016, the Government of India also honored him with Padmashree.
• Ajay Banga of Indian origin took over as World Bank President last year on June 2, 2023. With this, he became the first black person to chair two global financial institutions, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
• On May 3, 2023, 63-year-old Ajay Banga was elected by the Executive Directors of the World Bank as its 14th President. His tenure will be for 5 years.
• Banga is the first Indian-American to chair the World Bank. He has been appointed in place of David Malpas. David Malpass had decided to resign in February 2023.
• It has been said about Ajay Banga in Time magazine that he has connected millions of people outside the banking system with the digital economy. At the World Bank, Ajay presented a new vision for a poverty-free world and moved forward boldly to make it a better place. For this he has used the Multilateral Development Bank and private sector as a tool.

About Satya Nadella:

• Satya Nadella, born on 19 August 1967 in Hyderabad, became the CEO of Microsoft in February 2014. Satya Nadella has done engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology. Nadella started at Microsoft in 1992 as a Windows NT operating system developer.
• 54 year old Satya Nadella is the chairman of the world's leading tech company Microsoft. Satya Nadella's net worth is $2,527 billion.
• It has been said about Satya Nadella in Time magazine that Nadella has a big contribution in making Microsoft the largest company in the world.

About Dev Patel:

Dev Patel became famous in the world with Danny Boyle's film Slumdog Millionaire in 2008. This film won 8 Oscar Awards. Apart from Dev, Freida Pinto and Anil Kapoor were also in this film. Dev received an Oscar nomination for the 2016 film Lion.
