How to Calculate Marks Using UP PET 2026 Answer Key?

Candidates can use the UP PET 2026 Provisional Answer Key to estimate their marks by comparing their attempted answers with the official solutions. The exam includes 100 multiple-choice questions worth a total of 100 marks, and there is a negative marking penalty applied to any incorrect responses.

You can easily calculate your estimated marks by applying the formula given below:

Estimated Score = (Correct Answers × 1) − (Incorrect Answers × 0.25)

As an example, suppose a candidate answers 75 questions correctly, gets 15 wrong, and skips 10 questions; their calculation will be as follows:

• Marks for correct answers: 75 × 1 = 75
• Negative marks: 15 × 0.25 = 3.75
• Estimated score: 75 − 3.75 = 71.25 marks

This calculation provides an estimated raw score. Keep in mind that your actual final result will strictly depend on the finalised answer key and the Commission's official evaluation rules.
